2 The Hikari Chiropractic Identity and Design Guidelines. In order to prepare for the launch of the new identity for Hikari Chiropractic, the main elements of the new logo and supporting design guidelines have been prepared. These are produced in electronic digital format for internal use and/or distribution to production artists and designers. All files are produced in Adobe CC s Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. 4 Introduction Welcome Share Your Light - The Hikari Philosophy The Hikari Chiropractic identity is the essence of the company and appears on everything we produce, from print to video and the web. Our new identity expresses who we are and what we do best. It builds on our mission to empower people to connect to their healing resources, trust their inner rhythms and share their light with the world! By following these guidelines, you will be producing a consistent and effective brand for Hikari Chiropractic building and strengthening our positioning in the local wellness community. A Brand Evolution Growth and evolution is part of a patient s treatment when they are engaged with Hikari Chiropractic. As they progress, changes become apparent as they evolve physically, emotionally and spiritually to share their inner light. The same can be said for the Hikari Brand. As the need for marketing assets evolved throughout the years, changes to the design assets have been made to ensure clear visual communications of the brand. This updated Guidelines Book has the most current brand assets and specifications to date. 6 Brand Elements Core Elements The Hikari Chiropractic identity is the focal point of all designs. The core elements create the foundation of the look and feel. Primary Identity Other elements include the primary and secondary color palettes, the approved typography and supporting photography BRAND REVISIONS Changes to the Primary Color Palette were produced throughout the Hikari Brand specifically the Hikari Gray. Refer page 9, Revised Color 2015, for color specification details when producing new print or digital content for the Hikari Brand. 7 Brand Elements Primary Identity The Hikari identity is made up of two parts: the wordmark and the symbol the sun and leaf. Together these symbolize our commitment to healing and community. The relationship of these two elements is fixed and cannot be modified from what is outlined in the guidelines. The Identity without Tagline, is used as the primary identity for Hikari Chiropractic. 8 Brand Elements Identity with Tagline The Identity with Tagline, can be used for internal publications and external marketing. A. There will be three tagline lockups for specific marketing campaigns. These taglines will rotate on the website and will set up the logo reveal for online and video use. The taglines will use a specific tier system for marketing purposes: B. A. Share Your Light. B. Connect To Your Source of Healing. C. Trust Your Inner Rhythms. C. Secondary Identity The Secondary Identity should only be used when space constraints dictate that a stacked format is necessary for quality and legibility. Branding for partnerships where there are specific requirements the Hikari name and logo can be used in conjunction with other company names and logos in certain applications and conditions. 9 Brand Elements Clearspace : Primary In order to maintain the integrity of the identity, a clearspace must remain around the entire logo. To determine the clearspace, a quartered square is first created by using the height and width of the a in Hikari, defined as X. We divide the box in half to use as the final clearspace defined as 1/2 X. IMPORTANT Always place the logo with the clearspace border to ensure accurate spacing. 10 Brand Elements Clearspace : Taglines In order to maintain the integrity of the taglines, a clearspace must remain around the typography. A. Primary Tagline We use the same clearspace formula of X and 1/2 X. Here the a we used is from the word Share. Trust Your Inner Rhythms Tagline A is the Primary Tagline and should be use only for signage and marketing purposes. The one line versions are used for the website, horizontal signage or marketing campaigns with the appropriate spacing. B. B. Version Stacked Stacked Taglines are used when attached to the Primary Identity and should be use only for signage and marketing purposes. IMPORTANT Always place the taglines with the clearspace border to ensure accurate spacing. Delete the border once the design is approved and ready for final output. 11 Brand Elements Clearspace : Identity with Taglines A. When using the Identity with Tagline, the tagline is 1/2 X to the right of the Hikari word mark (A, B and C). This clearspace is based on the identity formula for X and 1/2 X. See color callout pages for specific color usage for taglines. 1/2 X 1/2 X The Stacked Identity (D) will not carry a tagline unless there are circumstances which will be evaluated should a need arise. Be mindful of the type of paper stocks being used for printing and specify color accordingly. On-site color proofing is required for color accuracy. 17 Brand Elements One Color Identity If not printing with 4 color process, the identity should be produced using PMS 2925c or PMS Cool Gray 9c. If the logo is to be reversed out, it is recommended to use PMS 2925c or PMS Cool Gray 9c. The logo may also be reversed out of PMS 368c documents pertaining to the environment or community events. For newspaper or fax, print the identity with Hikari Gray. When the identity is reversed out, the entire mark must go to white. 18 Brand Elements Incorrect Usage DON T change the identity in any way. Use only the approved artwork supplied. DON T place the identity on a color or background. DON T alter the lockup of the identity. DON T sever the identity or use it as part of a repeat pattern. hikari CHIROPRACTIC DON T alter the typography of the identity. DON T stretch, condense or skew the identity. DON T add any graphic elements or text to the identity. DON T apply any filters to the identity. DON T reproduce the identity in any colors except those specified in the guidelines. DON T use other taglines or change the lock-up of the tagline. DON T contain the identity in any shape. 19 Brand Elements Minimum Identity Size In the case the minimum size is necessary, the Primary Identity without tagline should be used as the recommended option. If the space does not accommodate the identity width, the Secondary Identity, stacked, will be used as the alternative option. Both identities will use the 4 color or one color treatment. 20 Brand Elements Identity Placement The ideal placement is the upper right-hand corner, with a minimum distance of 1X from the top and right for layouts smaller than 4 inches wide and maximum of 6X from the top and right for pieces larger than 4 inches wide. Example - The website application the identity is placed in the upper left-hand corner in order to follow the accepted convention for web design. 21 Brand Elements Typography Identity Typeface The Identity Wordmark, Taglines and Descriptor are London 1970 from the Chalet font family. Taglines have an adjusted letter S from the Arial Regular Font. This font was chosen for its curved, clean, modern look. Adjustments were made to create the logo. Chalet - New York 1970 and Paris 1970 will be used for headlines and subheadlines for print and web. 23 Brand Elements Primary and Secondary Color Proportions The predominant impression created should be of large areas of white space. These proportions should be used as a general guide of how to use color to create the most appropriate look and feel. Hikari Chiropractic Identity Guidelines 20

24 Brand Elements Photography Styles Primary Photography The primary photography style is crisp, full color images tht show the sun and/or vegetation. Secondary Photography The secondary photography style is full color images showing both subject and environment. The subject is usually in silhouette. All images shown in the guidelines are either from the artists who donate images in exchange for promotion to their online portfolio or images purchased royalty-free stock photography from online image banks. For further information on how to resource existing imagery or purchase new imagery, please contact the Hikari office. 25 Business Assets Business Cards This business card is a clean and simple design. We have two designs for the front. One for the attending physician and the other a Generic for office use. The reverse side of the card is used as an appointment card for new or established practice members to help remind them of their next entrainment. A bright, white 100# cover stock should be used for the business cards. When practical, a stock with recycled content should be used. 27 Business Assets Letterhead The size of the Hikari identity on the second sheet is 85% of the size on the letterhead. One type is for printing on company stationery and the other type has the identity embedded to print on blank paper. It is recommended that a bright, white 80# text stock be used for the stationery system. 31 Marketing Materials Tri-Fold Brochure We will produce a 3 panel brochure that reflects the design ascetics that are developed in these guidelines. The size is 8.5 in x 11 in. and the folding is a letter-fold. Sample shown at 40% of actual size. Other brochure sizes, if needed, should follow these design guidelines and proportions. A bright, white stock should be used for the brochure. When practical, a stock with recycled content should be used. Outside Spread Community Message We are going changes here at the office in September. We will be opened on Thursday mornings for entrainments and close on Tuesdays starting the first week of September. Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) SRI is a series of exercises that train the body and mind to access your inner resources, increasing the depth of healing.
