3 Principles & Cmpliance Mnitring Our Principles 1) Sustainability Plan Each Market Unit and Business Unit must develp and implement a plan utlining the actins each Market Unit will undertake t cntribute twards reaching millins mre peple t make psitive changes t be healthier and t reduce ur carbn ftprint. This plan ught t include initiatives t: Develp and execute a plan t manage and reduce carbn emissins, wrking with Crprate Centre t reprt and track these emissins. Cmply with all applicable envirnmental legal requirements in the cuntry in which it perates, and any specific vluntary envirnmental standards in relatin t envirnmental aspects as determined by Bupa. Articulate and deliver against a plan t implement an Envirnmental Management System (EMS) in material facilities in rder t identify, mnitr and reduce envirnmental risks. Articulate and deliver against a plan t engage peple in health in their market, with and beynd custmers and emplyees, in a way that cntributes t Bupa s gal f reaching 60 millin peple by ) Nminated Sustainability Champin Each Market Unit must have a Head r Directr f Sustainability, r a nminated Sustainability Champin, respnsible fr delivery f the plan. Brand 3) Measurement Every Market and Business Unit must regularly (at least every 6 mnths) measure perfrmance against their plan and respnd t questinnaires frm Crprate Centre t supply relevant infrmatin that will be published in the Annual Reprt and Accunts. Plicy Cmpliance Mnitring All Market and Business Units must ensure that they are able t demnstrate cmpliance t the principles f this plicy by implementing apprpriate prcedures, prcesses and framewrks. Minimum Cmpliance Mnitring Expectatins: At a minimum each MU is expected t: Review and cnfirm MU cmpliance n at least an annual basis. The Sustainability Plicy Cmpliance Checklist (Appendix 1) shuld be used as a basis fr cnfirming cmpliance. It is expected that cmpliance is reprted within MUs t MU Executive Management and in additin the Enterprise Plicy Spnsr & Owner shuld be prvided with the minimum Cmpliance Mnitring reprting t ensure a sighted pinin n verall cmpliance f the Plicy acrss Bupa. Overseeing the measurement and submissin f sustainability related results in the Bupa Perfrmance Screcard, Purpse Reprting and Annual Reprt and Accunts reprting prcesses. Crprate Centre Sustainability Team is respnsible fr: Prviding directin, guidance and interdependent supprt t Market Unit Sustainability Champins t catalyse internal change t achieve ur gals as set ut in the Sustainability Plicy. Prviding a cnsistent framewrk and plan fr Envirnmental Management Systems and envirnmental perfrmance mnitring t all MU including CC Executing glbal wrk streams n creating a big impact n wrld health and a psitive impact n the envirnment. Prmting apprach n gvernance, mnitring and delivery. Playing a key rle in leading key strands f multi-market, r Bupa-wide, activity as well as identifying thers t d s within the Market and Business Units.. Enterprise Plicy Spnsr: Accuntable fr plicy cntent (and apprval f updates). Accuntable fr nminating the Enterprise Plicy Owner and ensuring apprpriate funding/capacity t cmplete respnsibilities. Enterprise Plicy Owner: Respnsibility fr defining the requirements f the plicy and the annual update f the Plicy. Respnsibility fr reviewing and apprving any requests fr MU adaptatins t the Plicy. Respnsible fr building a cmmunity with the nminated Lcal Plicy Owners (fr knwledge sharing etc). Respnsible fr establishing a framewrk fr cnsultatin with Lcal Plicy Owners (and ther stakehlders) when changing/updating the Plicy. Respnsible fr prvisin f guidance t supprt businesses n hw cmpliance can be achieved. Defining minimum required Cmpliance Metrics that shuld be used t cntinually evaluate cmpliance. Respnsible fr maintaining a well sighted pinin n cmpliance against their plicy acrss the whle f Bupa and challenging/escalating if nn-cmpliance issues are nt seen as being reslved apprpriately.
