Abut Yu Yu are an experienced slutin r enterprise architect, seeking t increase the breadth and depth f yur experience in a diverse, glbal, pprtunity-rich enterprise envirnment. Yu can demnstrate substantial experience in develping architecture visins, radmaps and slutins and yu are cnfident in setting and applying the necessary standards and principles t ensure that all slutins fit well within a cherent and cst-effective IT architecture. Yu are passinate abut delivering real value thrugh a lean and mdern IT architecture. Yu can interact effectively with senir business stakehlders and can cnstructively challenge thers in rder t ensure that the best slutins are achieved t meet the current and future needs f a glbal rganisatin. Abut the Dmain Architect Rle In this rle, yu'll be fcused n: Building the radmap that helps the University achieve it s 2020 Strategy Wrking with senir business stakehlders t get their input and gain supprt fr the apprach, the visin and the radmap Making sure technlgy delivery is aligned t ur principles and plicies Dmain Architects are accuntable fr the enterprise architecture within ne r mre specified vertical business dmains (e.g. student, teaching and learning, research, business peratins) r a hrizntal specialist dmain (e.g. business architecture, data architecture, technlgy architecture). Dmain Architects will be accuntable fr ensuring that all dmains are jined up and cmplement each ther. Dmain Architects are redeplyed acrss dmains ver time as part f their wn develpment and t meet the changing needs f the University. Dmain Architects will als be respnsible fr directing, mnitring and caching Slutin Architects in the prductin f High Level Designs and ther architecture artefacts and deliverables fr prjects.

2 Abut The Architecture Team The Architecture Team cnsists f Dmain Architects and Slutin Architects. We wrk acrss IS and the wider University t ensure that ur strategies and slutins deliver real value. We enable the University t meet its bjectives by identifying strategic pprtunities and designing the right infrmatin technlgy supprt fr the rganisatin. The Architecture Team is led by the Chief Architect, wh reprts directly t the CIO as a member f the IS Senir Management Team. We have achieved a lt already. We ve established an architecture-led change prcess and key baseline Enterprise Architecture mdels. Over the cming while, we will build n these early successes, grwing and maturing the EA capability, and embedding urselves in the heart f the University and IS. The team architects and gverns IS slutins t meet current and future needs. We set and apply the principles, plicies, guidelines and standards necessary t ensure that all slutins fit well within a cherent, flexible, secure and cst effective IT architecture, and meet specified business requirements in the ptimum manner. The team are expert in understanding hw changes t service, prcess, rganisatin, and technlgy cmpnents meet agreed requirements and understand any ptins r cnsideratins which require a decisin frm the University. We act as the technical design authrity and wn current and future state descriptins, architecture and technlgy radmaps, standards and principles. Abut Infrmatin Services Many f ur services are typical f any business and ffer similar challenges: Managed desktps and laptps, data strage, , printing, web cntent management fr the internet and intranet, data and vice netwrking, multimedia design and prductin, and the majr applicatins underpinning finance, HR/payrll, marketing, facilities management, cnferencing and a range f cmmercial enterprises, including incubatr premises fr new business ventures. Other challenges are specific t higher educatin and t ur University in particular. Nttingham has huge ambitin t transfrm the experience it prvides t students t place them at the heart f its glbal, digital cmmunity. This will invlve fundamental change t the business prcesses which underpin the student jurney thrugh the institutin, majr rganisatinal change acrss prfessinal services teams, and the implementatin f a cmprehensive, integrated suite f supprting IT systems. We als run specialist systems t underpin the life cycle f each research prject as it mves frm grant applicatin thrugh t publicatin and disseminatin. Our researchers need infrmatin t help them target the next exciting and lucrative research pprtunity. They need t be able t demnstrate the impact their research is having in the wrld. We have campuses in Nttingham, China and Malaysia, and aim t supprt mbility, ease f cmmunicatin and team wrk acrss this hugely diverse and gegraphically spread cmmunity. In respnse t these specific challenges, we prvide particular and differentiating services. These include a Virtual Learning Envirnment and ther innvative technlgies fr learning, High Perfrmance Cmputing services and a large range f specialist sftware. Our researchers prduce vast amunts f data and need tls t manage, mine and generate infrmatin frm it. Many f them cllabrate with industrial partners and researchers in ther institutins acrss disciplinary and rganisatinal bundaries.
