These 3 coated grades cover a wide range of applications. To achieve longer tool life, Mitsubishi uses a unique "Particle-activated intering Method", combined with increased cutting edge strength. With high crater wear resistance grades and a wear resistant ceramic coatings, longer tool life and improved machine effi ciency are obtained. 8 UNCOATED ERIE FEATURE tool material is produced by mixing the primary component (cubic boron nitride), which has a hardness second only to diamond, with a special ceramic or metal binder. It is then sintered at a pressure of over 5GPa and at a temperature of 2192 F or higher. has lower affi nity to iron than diamond.
