1 ADELAIDE OVAL SMA LTD POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE REPORTS TO TYPE OF APPOINTMENT ICT Manager Chief Finance Offer FULL TIME Overview Adelaide Oval is an iconic sporting arena located within a short walk from the Adelaide CBD. The Oval is internationally acclaimed due to its stunning picturesque setting and history of providing a World Class Venue and Food and Beverage product. The creation of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) will allow for two major sporting codes, International and Domestic Cricket and Australian Rules Football to utilise the Oval and its facilities, this not occurred in Adelaide for over 40 years. The management and maintenance of this new facility will be a challenging task. In addition to the Oval s sporting activities there will be opportunities to attract a wide range of International and Local entertainment supported with state of the art Food and Beverage facilities. The Organisation The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority Limited (AOSMA) is chartered with providing a World Class standard of stadium delivery at the newly-developed Adelaide Oval. This charter includes (but is not limited to): The provision of a seating capacity for 50,000 patrons with at least 70% of seats undercover and a corporate capacity of at least 3,200 and a minimum of 3,800 car parks within the Precinct; Providing financial returns that will support the future development of both International and Domestic Cricket and AFL Football in South Australia; Attract a range of International and Domestic entertainment and sporting events to South Australia; Encourage Local and Domestic travel to the CBD and to the Parklands for the enjoyment of the aforementioned experience; and Combine the best of new world stadium designs and operations with the already established reputation of Adelaide Oval enhancing the overall reputation of Adelaide Oval and South Australia. The AOSMA Limited Charter Managing, controlling, and operating a Stadium and the designated precinct surrounding the Oval for the benefit of South Australian Cricket, Football, and the general South Australian community; Undertaking of maintenance, development and improvement of both the Stadium and the Precinct for the benefit of shareholders / members and public; and
2 Maximising financial returns to the shareholders to assist both SACA / SANFL develop their respective sports from junior grass roots level to senior representative level. Purpose of Position The ICT Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing ICT systems across the stadium. A key focus will be to evaluate and enhance business management systems, such as finance, HR, and IT. In order to achieve a smart stadium, that is state of the art, efficient and of a world class standard, these systems need to be integrated with each other and with POS, ticketing, memberships and building management systems. This role will focus on the strategic management and development of both business software systems and ICT hardware systems. The role will work with internal and external technical specialists, and will drive a lean, efficient, full service culture that focuses on the patron experience, service excellence and continuous improvement. This position is accountable for: Development and maintenance of ICT systems, policies and network management framework Develop integration of business software systems including Finance, Sales, CRM, Payroll and Stock/ Point of Sale. Maintain and develop ICT systems including Network Server and building management systems (security, AV, IPTV, electricity, air conditioning, turf management). Drive the commercialisation of the stadium data centre and ensure its efficient operation and maintenance Ensure availability and performance of systems Ensure systems meet user requirements and achieve strategic goals Develop the ICT strategy that is aligned to the AOSMA business plan and Smart Stadium Vision Maintain systems in accordance with vendor recommendations and manage those key external vendor relationships Manage a team of dedicated ICT professionals and contractors to deliver the requirements of the ICT function The position will require leadership, clarity of thought, motivation and determination. Key Relationships The Adelaide Oval ICT Manager reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer. The position also liaises extensively with the CEO and Executive Management Team as required to ensure the coordinated approach to systems management and the ICT function. Direct Reports The ICT Manager will oversee an ICT Technical Services Manager, ICT Systems Assistant and Application and Desktop Support Officer. In addition this role will work closely with the AOSMA s key stakeholders and co-tenants of the Adelaide Oval in SACA and SANFL to ensure an integrated and centrally planned ICT network and technology platform. 3 Key Responsibilities The ICT Manager is responsible to: Managing contractors and operations of major technological assets throughout the stadium, such as IPTV and replay screens Managing the AOSMA staff and administrative ICT requirements Providing input to design into policies and procedures Preparation of the ICT operating and capital budget and monitoring of expenses incurred to ensure the department is operating within the financial budget Oversee the integration and development of the business software systems Oversee the operation and effectiveness of the network systems Liaise with internal and external stakeholders As a member of the Senior Leadership Team develop a whole of organisation Strategic Plan that delivers for sustained growth and profitability Prepare and present reports and budgets to Board / Executive. Leads ICT team members to develop, implement and deliver on operational plans relevant to their area Monitors and reviews plans taking in to consideration business environmental changes to ensure plan currency Provides technology advice to the business based on up to date knowledge of internal IT strategic direction and external innovation across a broad range of technology services Ensures technology strategy and architecture is up to date and reflects business needs. Plans and manages business investment in line with the broader business and technology strategies and investment priorities, with the goal of continuously advancing services to meet business requirements Manages technology delivery teams and external suppliers to deliver a reliable, stable and operationally excellent technology service Provides an escalation point for the business on technology related issues Negotiates service level agreements and ensure operating level agreements are in place with service providers to deliver SLAs Monitors and reports on performance against SLAs and ensure gaps are managed Forecast, monitor and report to the business the end to end cost of technology services Develops strategies to improve the cost and/or quality of service provided by internal and external suppliers and partners to ensure seamless, cost efficient technology services Lead the development of operational budgets to support cost centre manager ownership of controllable revenue and expense Monitors financial and non-financial information across the Technology division to ensure effective decision making Identify risks associated with technology services Develop mitigating solutions with associated costs and benefits to allow the business to make informed risk management decisions Develops structure clarifying roles and responsibilities of members, resourcing functions as appropriate for service delivery Regular and appropriate performance feedback is provided to the team Operate within and comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines. 4 Actively contribute to and participate in the performance management and development process. Comply with Workplace Health and Safety legislation by working within the WHS framework. Competencies, Knowledge and Attributes The ICT Manager will possess skills and knowledge in: Windows Server Environments Microsoft Exchange Environments Virtualisation (VMware preferred) Remote Access technologies (RDP, Citrix etc.) Cisco Switching (Layer 2/Layer 3 networks) SQL database experience Data analytics ERP/ CRM systems experience Routing and Security (internet and/or WAN termination, firewalls, VPN, anti-spam and anti-virus etc.) Back-Up and Replication Application delivery and management (line-of-business and core business apps) PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification (preferred) Managed and participated in large technology projects Network (LAN) infrastructure refresh Server / storage infrastructure virtualisation / upgrades IP Telephony deployment / upgrade A Highly customer focused/orientated approach Superior interpersonal skills and in particular skills in building positive working relationships with a wide range of people Be able to maintain high workloads, and meet deadlines within specified time frames; Be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills with high personal motivation. Have the ability to think laterally to achieve defined goals; The ability to demonstrate initiative and innovative thinking; Superior organisational and planning skills; Maturity, self-confidence and judgement; Strong commercial acumen; Strong analytical skills and the ability to be effective under pressure; Outstanding written and oral communication skills including the capacity to negotiate effectively; An ability to write and/or develop submissions; and Strong financial and budgetary skills combined with a commercially oriented approach to budgeting and people management. Energy and enthusiasm and an ability to work calmly and purposefully under pressure. The ICT Manager must have extensive experience in: The venue management industry, preferably with significant F&B operations; Working with senior management; Page 4
5 Managing ICT within an events and facilities environment; and Consulting, collaborating, communicating and providing advice and information to the management team. The ICT Manager must have an understanding of: Implementing systems in Finance, POS, HR Management, Payroll Processing, Rostering and Time in Attendance Creation of policies, procedures and managerial frameworks Qualifications The ICT Manager must have: Relevant technical qualifications including ICT and Project Management 7-10 years in commercial organisation/s servicing 100+ users across multiple sites Special Conditions Out of hours work and event attendance will be required.
