5 21 EHS Envirnment, Health and Safety 21.1 Basic Data and Hazardus Substance Management (New) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), new cmpnents and menu ndes are available in the SAP Envirnment, Health and Safety (SAP EH&S) cmpnent fr the basic data and fr hazardus substance management. These cntain existing SAP EH&S functins such as New Functins fr Imprting Vendr MSDS. Basic Data Under the Basic Data nde yu can edit the data yu need in a number f SAP EH&S cmpnents at ne central pint: Yu can match up master data. Yu can use the WWI mnitr. Yu can display and edit the fllwing data: - Generatin variants - Reprt templates - Phrases - Phrase sets - Phrase grups - Surces - Regulatry lists - Data fr QM inspectin plan creatin Hazardus Substance Management The safe handling f hazardus substances is becming increasingly imprtant. There are numerus regulatins fr the prtectin f yur emplyees and ther regulatins yu must bserve when yu place hazardus substances n the market r sell them. We have therefre gruped tgether all the SAP EH&S functins yu require fr managing hazardus substances under the Hazardus Substance Management nde: Yu can edit hazardus substance data and ther data n the substances present in yur cmpany in specificatin management, and search fr and display it using the specificatin infrmatin system. Yu can edit wrk areas and patterns and link them with bjects in Organizatinal Management. Yu can edit agents and risk assessments and determine amunts. Yu can edit, release, and ship EH&S reprts (such as material safety data sheets, labels, and standard perating prcedures), and search fr and display them using the reprt infrmatin system. SAP AG 1

6 Nte Yu can imprt material safety data sheets and ther dcuments frm yur vendrs and manage them like ther EH&S reprts. Just as they were previusly, these functins are als still available in the ther SAP EH&S cmpnents, meaning n ndes have been remved frm these cmpnents. The navigatin instructins in the dcumentatin still qute the previus paths, and the structure f the dcumentatin is still based n the previus SAP EH&S cmpnents EH&S Native Language Supprt (Enhanced) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110) yu can als use the functins f EH&S Native Language Supprt (EH&S NLS) in SAP Systems with Unicde character sets. Fr this, yu d nt need t install either MDMP r a Blended Cde Page. Hwever, n SAP Systems withut Unicde character sets yu must install either MDMP r a Blended Cde Page. Effects n Custmizing Yu set up EH&S NLS in Custmizing fr Prduct Safety in the IMG activity Set Up EH&S Native Language Supprt Integratin in PLM Extensin 1.10 (New) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), the SAP Envirnment, Health and Safety (SAP EH&S) cmpnent is part f PLM Extensin 1.10 and is shipped with it. SAP EH&S Release 2.7B, Supprt Package 03 was integrated int PLM Extensin 1.10 and was further develped there. This integratin f SAP EH&S in the PLM Extensin ffers the fllwing advantages: Yu n lnger need t install SAP EH&S as an add-n sftware cmpnent. This simplifies installatin and upgrade. Yu can install SAP EH&S at the same time as SAP R/3 Enterprise. Yu will receive crrectins fr SAP EH&S in the standard Supprt Packages and n lnger in separate SAP EH&S Supprt Packages. Standard Supprt Packages and SAP EH&S Supprt Packages are n lnger interdependent and therefre n lnger need t be matched up. The dcumentatin fr SAP EH&S is nw part f the dcumentatin fr SAP R/3 Enterprise. This means yu nw n lnger need t install a separate dcumentatin CD fr SAP EH&S. Nte: SAP EH&S remains a separate item n the SAP price list and still requires a separate license. SAP AG 2

What is new is that usages fr which the Excluding indicatr is set fr all validity areas are ignred by the system. This ensures that these validity areas cannt be interpreted by the system as subregins f a larger validity area because a larger validity area with the same rating des nt exist. See als Excluding indicatr. Nnempty Characteristics Functin SAP AG 3

8 The search functin <Specificatin categry> with values assigned has been enhanced. Yu can nw search fr specificatins f a specific specificatin categry fr which certain characteristics have already been edited. T d this, select the relevant value assignment type in the search functin dialg bx. If yu chse the new Nnempty Characteristics functin in the dialg bx, the characteristics f the value assignment are displayed fr yu t select and transfer as required. As the result f the search, the system displays all specificatins f the current specificatin categry that have any value set fr the selected characteristics. SP_NO_AUTH_CHCK_REF_PROPS envirnment parameter: Deactivatin f authrizatin check fr referenced value assignments The SP_NO_AUTH_CHCK_REF_PROPS envirnment parameter was created fr SAP EH&S Release 2.7B, Supprt Package 01. SP_COMPCAT_CONFIDENTIAL envirnment parameter: Cnfidential cmpnent type The SD_COMPCAT_CONFIDENTIAL envirnment parameter was created fr SAP EH&S Release 2.7B, Supprt Package 01. 10 WWI Installatin (Enhanced) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), the installatin f the Windws Wrdprcessr Integratin (WWI) prgram has been enhanced. As f this Release, WWI als supprts Windws XP. Enhancements t the Generatin Server During installatin yu must enter a license key. Fr test purpses r if yu have nt yet received the license key, yu can perate the WWI generatin server nce fr 10 days withut a license key. Fr mre infrmatin, see SAP Nte The installatin rutine has been extended. Fr mre infrmatin, see the IMG activity Install Generatin Server n Generatin PC. - Yu have the ptin f setting up printers fr different utput frmats. Enhancements fr Layuting Editing reprt templates was previusly pssible nly t a certain extent n Windws terminal servers (such as Citrix) because user-independent registry entries were used. Only ne user culd edit a reprt template at any ne time. This restrictin n lnger exists. Existing changes t Wrd settings made by WWI macrs are reset t their ld status after yu have finished editing a reprt template. This means yu can then easily edit Wrd dcuments and display WWI reprts. The fllwing Wrd settings are affected: - Tls -> Optins -> View -> Nnprinting characters (Micrsft Wrd 97) / Frmatting marks (Micrsft Wrd 2000/XP) -> All - Tls -> Optins -> View -> Nnprinting characters (Micrsft Wrd 97) / Frmatting marks (Micrsft Wrd 2000/XP) -> Hidden text - Tls -> Optins -> View -> Shw -> Field cdes In reverse, when yu start editing a reprt template, the same settings are reset again t the settings last used when editing a reprt template. When yu change the menu language, the WWI.DOT file is n lnger saved as it previusly was. Yu can nw als change the settings ffline by pening the WWI.DOT in Wrd and chsing WWI -> Basic Settings. It is n lnger necessary fr the Windws envirnment variable Path t reference the WWI directry. Extending the Wrd template paths: Fr Micrsft Wrd 97 it is n lnger necessary t lcalize the files WWI.DOT and SAP AG 6

11 WWIDISPL.DOT in ne f the Wrd paths fr user templates r wrkgrup templates. Fr Micrsft Wrd 2000 and XP, this is still necessary if the macr security level is nt t be set t lw. At the interface, data is cnverted frm Unicde int the apprpriate ASCII cde page (single byte r duble byte) and vice versa. See als the Release Nte EH&S Native Language Supprt (Enhanced). The mechanism fr cnverting the fnts fr each cde page remains the same in the WWI prgram ([Fnts] sectin in WWI.INI). Effects n Custmizing T set up the described functins, yu must edit the fllwing IMG activities: WWI installatin, Wrd template paths - Install Generatin Server n Generatin PC - Set Up WWI Switching the menu language: Set Up WWI Menu Language WWI Functins (New) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), the fllwing new functins have been develped fr the Windws Wrdprcessr Integratin (WWI) prgram: Mandatry Reprt Symbls Certain values must exist n a reprt fr it t be cnsidered cmplete frm a technical pint f view. Yu nw have the fllwing ptins fr setting up mandatry reprt symbls that must be filled: - In Custmizing fr Prduct Safety: Yu can define a symbl in Custmizing as a general mandatry symbl by assigning the symbl a message type in the IMG activity Check and Specify Reprt Symbls. If n value exists fr the symbl during generatin, an apprpriate message appears n the reprt and in the reprt lg. Fr mre infrmatin, see the dcumentatin fr the data element Message. - On the reprt template: When inserting a symbl in the reprt template, yu can set the Value Mandatry indicatr. When the reprt is generated, the system then checks whether the value exists fr the symbl at the relevant psitin. If the value des nt exist, a message infrming yu f this appears n the reprt and in the reprt lg as yu defined in Custmizing. Nte: SAP AG 7

12 Currently nly the message type W (warning) is supprted. REPORT_GENERATION_PROTOCOL Envirnment Parameter: Reprt generatin lg is written The new envirnment parameter REPORT_GENERATION_PROTOCOL was created fr SAP EH&S Release 2.7B, Supprt Package 01. Yu can use it t activate lgging f reprt generatin. Overflw Warning fr Autmatic Character Sizing As f SAP EH&S Release 2.7B, Supprt Package 01, warnings can be lgged when reprt bdies are being generated if the text still des nt fit in its text bx when it has reached its minimum size after autmatic character sizing. Nte: The fllwing entries in the cnfiguratin file WWI.INI fr the WWI generatin server activate the functin: [glbal] DyntextWarnings=1 DyntextOnRawReprt=1 DyntextWarnings activates the lgging f warnings during autmatic character sizing. DyntextOnRawReprt causes autmatic character sizing t be run during reprt bdy generatin fr all text bxes that are already cmpletely merged. Withut this switch, autmatic character sizing is always run first with the final reprt. 15 EHS-DGP-TP Template and One-Time Material Prcessing Template and One-Time Material Prcessing (New) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), template and ne-time material prcessing has been made available fr Dangerus Gds Management. Template and ne-time material prcessing makes it easier fr yu t handle lgistics prcesses including dangerus gds checks and dangerus gds dcuments fr substances whse descriptin, prperties, and dangerus gds data vary. The time and effrt invlved in dangerus gds classificatin is reduced cnsiderably, in particular fr substances yu wish t ship nly nce EHS-HEA Occupatinal Health Case Histry (Enhanced) As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL_110), yu can chse which screen yu want t use t enter a case histry. Previusly yu culd nly enter details n a patient's wn case histry, family case histry, r ccupatinal case histry n the case histry screen. If yu decide t use the new screen, yu can als enter ther case histry types, such as external case histry. Effects n System Administratin Yu can transfer existing data by executing the reprt prgram REHS_DATA_TRANS_TO_ANAM_NEW. Fr mre infrmatin, see the dcumentatin fr the reprt prgram. Effects n Custmizing If yu decide t use the new case histry screen, yu shuld set the envirnment parameter OHS_NEW_ANAM_SCREEN in Custmizing fr Occupatinal Health in the IMG activity Specify Envirnment Parameters EHS-HEA-IIL Injury/Illness Lg Integratin f Incident/Accident Lg and Health Center Services (New) SAP AG 11

16 As f SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extensin 1.10 (EA_APPL 110), yu can navigate frm the Incident/Accident Lg: Edit Persn-Specific Data screen t the health center services in SAP EH&S Occupatinal Health. The system first checks whether yu have the necessary authrizatin. If yu d, the verview f health center services that exist fr the persn affected appears. If a crrespnding health center service exists, yu can assign the incident/accident lg entry t it.
