Contractor (ARB) continues to monitor the oil well and maintain the pressure in a safe level. The gas flare is operational and being used to maintain safe pressures. 2
3 Department of Conservation Division Of Oil Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) issued permits for plugging of four oil wells: BH-15, HS-1A, HS-3 and OS-7. As of December 4, 2018, these four wells have been plugged and abandoned. The oil rig will be moved to the next well, OS-13, and begin plugging when DOGGR approval is received. Due to a number of factors, the revised project cost estimate is 2 to 3 times the original estimate of $8 million. BHUSD and City Council are informed regularly of progress and cost issues and the City Council will consider approval of a contract amendment on December 18.
