1 Association of Colleges The Association of Colleges (AoC) exists to represent and promote the interests of Colleges and provide members with professional support services. As such, we aim to be the authoritative voice of Colleges based on credible analysis, research, advocacy and consultation with Colleges and the first choice destination for guidance and advice for members. AoC was established in 1996 by Colleges themselves as a voice for further education and higher education delivered in Colleges at national and regional level. AoC Create AoC Create is the commercial subsidiary of AoC and exists to generate revenue for AoC, paid annually in the form of a dividend. Working with colleges for 20 years, AoC Create uses its extensive network to provide recruitment and development services. JOB DSCRIPTION Training and Development Manager Job Purpose: To manage, develop and deliver the full range of Training and Development products and services to meet market needs and achieve financial targets. Department Reports To AoC Create Training and Development Director of Training and vents People Management Direct Reports: 2 Indirect Reports: None Monetary Responsibility Budget/ Revenue Generation: Responsible for achieving financial targets, financial planning and budget management, forecasting and accurate monthly financial reconciliation. Risk Management: Responsible for aligning products and services to market need. Protecting and upholding the AoC brand in the delivery of all activities and the creation and execution of partnerships and contracts. 1 P a g e Training and Development Manager

Key Accountabilities: Client management, partner and associate liaison and recruitment, ensuring efficient and high-quality customer service and contract management Identifying, pitching for and winning business with a diverse client group Design and deliver training courses and workshops, utilising a variety of methods, (train the trainer, face to face and virtual courses) Identify opportunities to develop the business and design and deliver new courses in response to market needs Assess proposals for training courses and workshops received from associates and third parties seeking to work with or through AoC/AoC Create Understand clients training requirements and advise on the most appropriate solutions. Identify training and development needs through training needs analysis Design blended training materials, courses and programmes and produce related training materials Undertake the programme management for both accredited and nonaccredited products and services to Masters level Manage the budget for products and services, to include planning, forecasting and monthly reconciliation and the development of pricing models to ensure competitiveness Respond effectively to ITT s, leading proposals and pitch meetings/interviews Plan the annual programme of workshops and training programmes nsure the smooth handling of logistics and high standards in delivery Keep up to date with methods, tools and techniques which can be applied to achieve more effective learning and use this knowledge to propose innovative modes of delivery for clients Management and development of Training and Development team members 2 P a g e Training and Development Manager

3 Management of evaluation processes, quality assurance, data and resolution of client issues Contribution to delivery of marketing and communications strategy including website content and development of collateral, promotion via networks and events Any other duties commensurate with the post that could be reasonably required. 5 Additional Requirements Description ssential Desirable ducation/ Qualifications/ Professional Bodies GCS nglish GCS grade C and above or equivalent ducated to degree level or equivalent Professional qualifications (relevant to training/l&d) D Knowledge Skills and xperience Substantial knowledge and experience of managing training and development products/services Knowledge and experience of designing and delivering training programmes in areas relevant to management and soft skills development A confident public speaker with excellent presentation skills and an engaging training style xcellent listening skills and ability to understand a client brief and feedback Good understanding of and ability to communicate learner outcomes Ability to identify high quality trainers/specialists, quality assess programmes proposed, and manage the contract and budget Proven experience of leading, managing and coaching a training team Ability to communicate effectively with people including senior persons and commercial businesses xcellent personal organisation and time management skills Ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively and manage own work schedule Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels xperience in budget management, planning, forecasting and financial reconciliation Good appreciation of marketing and communication tools and their exploitation for results xperience and skills in project management and business development Computer confident, proactive and enjoys learning new IT systems, good/ intermediate/ advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, xcel and PowerPoint xperience of databases and website communication systems particular IT and events management software D Attributes 5 P a g e Training and Development Manager
