1 Job Description Cleaning Services Team Leader Salary Grade: 5 Job Family: Property Services Directorate: Department/Section: Reports to: Responsible for: Asset Management Estate Rangers and Cleaning Services Estate Services and Cleaning Team Manager Cleaners x 23(approx.) Job purpose: To be directly responsible for the supervision of the cleaning team to ensure the cleaning service across the business, both in head office and off site locations consistently meets the agreed standards and adhering to the expected Health & Safety and environmental requirements. Core responsibilities: Directly responsible for the daily cleaning schedules of the Head Office employees Ensure that all Schemes and Short Stay Accommodation and Head Office are cleaned to the required Service Standards To operate a scheduled cleaning maintenance programme for the Schemes, Short Stay Accommodation and Head Office. Arrange cover and to fill in for short term employee shortages for sickness, holiday or vacancies by additional time or other infill arrangements (In-house) To undertake cover cleans when required To arrange and undertake adhoc works i.e. Deep cleans, hard floor, carpet and soft furnishing cleans as and when requested Plan, organise and conduct quarterly team meetings and monthly one to one performance meetings To take direct responsibility, on behalf of the Estates Services & Cleaning Team Manager, to ensure the cleaning team understand Health & Safety working requirements and the associated risks. To ensure all e-learning is completed by the cleaning team on time, assisting where necessary to explain processes and ensure complete understanding.
2 Report all individual performance concerns to the Estate Services and Cleaning Team Manager with relevant supporting documentation. Directly responsible for site packs and information relating to COSHH, SSOW and Safety Data Sheets, to produce and maintain packs with all relevant information. To ensure accurate Communications Logs are in place in Schemes, Short Stay Accommodation and Head Office Monitor and follow up requests To conduct audits (sites, cleaning cupboards, standards) and report back to the cleaning team member following up on any actions and recommendations. Meet with the Estate Services and Cleaning Team Manager monthly Schedule Estate Ranger calls when required and to cover for leave, sickness or when the Rangers team are short staffed To read and respond to s, order cleaning materials, initiate and respond to meeting requests, update head office waste charts, report damage to fittings, fabric of the building or equipment Key relationships: Will be required to build and maintain working relationships with the following key contacts: o Estate Services and Cleaning Team Manager, Cleaning and Estate Ranger teams o Supported Housing teams including Team Leaders, Scheme Managers, Short Stay Accommodation Coordinators o Repairs team o Facilities & H&S team and HR Dimensions: Direct line supervision of 23 cleaners. Responsibility of head office cleaning materials budget per annum Cleaning Services Team Leader has authority to make decision regarding the normal day-today tasks of the team. Person specification Requirements Essential Desirable Criteria Criteria Knowledge and experience Describe the knowledge and experience required to do the job. Experience of commercial cleaning Awareness of the Health & Safety at work act Experience of managing customer expectations In depth understanding of responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act. Understand provisions of COSHH Regulations Basic IT Skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Effective user of Microsoft Office packages Skills and abilities Describe the skills and abilities required to do the job effectively Ability to lead and motivate a team of cleaners. Flexible and approachable attitude with awareness and attention to detail. Able to adapt to different working environments Ability to utilise present team resources and workloads during short term absences, i.e. annual leave Page 3 of 5
