1 SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Responsible to: Funding and Social Value Officer Support Services Manager Responsible for: Providing Supporting Communities (SC) staff and Community Groups with relevant funding information and co-ordination of up-to-date information on funding advice. Taking the lead in developing a streamlined process/model for capturing and measuring impact/social value for SC and Community Groups within the Housing Community Network (HCN). Key Duties and Responsibilities: Funding Role: To be responsible for providing funding advice to SC Staff. To be responsible for providing funding advice to Community Groups SC supports and other relevant organisations with whom SC works with. To maintain a funding database and distribute as required to staff and other relevant individuals and organisations To work with the Support Services Manager to implement agreed policy and company objectives. To research all aspects of fundraising for Community Groups. Organise regular one to one funding support meetings with Community Groups who operate as part of the HCN. Organise and facilitate funding surgeries across N Ireland. Develop and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with Funding Bodies. To assist individual Community Groups within the Housing Community Network (HCN) to develop a fundraising strategy. Monitor and evaluate progress on fundraising projects and report on such progress as required. Maintain funding section of SC website.

2 Work alongside SC Editorial Team in the development of external publications. Ensure Funding Factsheets are updated on a regular basis and develop new Funding Factsheets as requested. Organise such meetings, conferences, seminars and other gatherings as are required. Manage & update Grant Finder, Grant Tracker and related sources of funding information. Research funding opportunities and produce a quarterly Community Funding Bulletin and supplements. Social Value Role: Research models of Social Value and Impact UK, Europe and internationally. Produce reports from any research completed on Social Value and Impact with recommendations and best practice identified. Develop and implement a model of Social Value and Impact that can be utilised by Supporting Communities, Community and Voluntary Groups. Develop and implement a model of Social Value and Impact that can be utilised by Community and Voluntary Groups. Develop and deliver presentations and methods of awareness raising in relation to Social Value and Impact to SC Staff, Community and Voluntary Groups especially those operating as part of the HCN. General Duties: Undertake relevant training as directed. To undertake such other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required. To hold meetings as required with the Support Services Manager to discuss objectives and the progress. Attend regular staff and Support Services Team meetings and carry out tasks as directed. To provide regular or ad hoc reports as required by Support Services Manager.

4 FUNDING AND SOCIAL VALUE OFFICER PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION Qualifications A University Degree or recognised 3 rd level qualification At least 2 years recent (i.e. within the last 3 years) relevant experience of Community Development, Funding and Social Impact Additional Skills Essential Excellent communication, written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Hold a full current driving licence with access to a car. Project management and research skills. Working knowledge of Social Value and Impact Measurement. Strong research and analytical skills. Knowledge and experience of working with groups to source, access and complete funding applications. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory bodies services provided in relation to funding. Highly motivated and a commitment to high standard of professional practice. Flexible attitude to work and ability to attend work outside normal working hours. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Desirable Flexible, adaptable and comfortable with change. Self-directing with initiative. Knowledge of housing and social housing providers. Knowledge of current government policies and procedures which have an impact at a local level. Ability to work as a team member.
