N/A Section 2: Key accountabilities and outcomes/tasks Leadership expectations Supervisory accountability and Lead cross-functional teams Required to design and deliver portfolio programs of work Make recommendation immediate and long term procurement strategies Demostrate ability to lead supply chain processes and guide the business through legislation, corporate policy and governance and delegation frameworks Technical accountabilities Build strategic and operational relationships with Suppliers with representation from the business that embraces a Partnering continuous improvement approach and challenges both Business and Supplier to deliver ongoing performance improvements and cost savings that contribute to better customer outcomes With the Business lead the performance and commercial management of group and preferred contracts. ensuring compliance, and drive ongoing supplier efficiency and performance improvements Lead the management of change process to on / off board new suppliers in line with the procurement framework Accountable for the data streams for evaluating supplier performance. 3 Ensuring that continuous improvement plans are put in place for relevant suppliers. Lead the dispute resolution process in accordance with the contractual requirements. Conduct contract audits and if required site inspections for safety, environment and quality parameters on a risk based frequency. To ensure that Sydney Water contract management practices, capital stewardship and corporate governance is of a high standard and in accordance with Sydney Water policy Where required provide supervision or advise on contract administration activities responsible for reconciling supplier invoices for approval and maintain contractual documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, contract variations, status reports and other documents, for all assigned programs Systems accountabilities N/A Process accountabilities Supplier Relationship Management Contract Life-cycle Management Internal working relationships Business Partner with Level 3 and 4 Managers across the SW organisation Understand business area requirements and provide commercial and market insights Manage relationship between Sydney Water Business and Suppliers Customers (external) Works with the business to lead projects and develop supply chain strategies that contribute to better customer outcomes Impact of position Contribution Spectrum 2 Delivery Operational Tactical Strategic Support the transition to the Supply Chain operating model platform Support the implementation of the BXP / Supply Chain technology enabler Contribute to the delivery of Supply Chain financial benefits targets Financial No budget control Significantly contribute to the Supply Chain Benefit delivery of $54M per year Innovation and Complexity 2 Delivery deliver own output by following set procedures, or according to operational targets Operational Set and achieve objectives which has an impact on others Tactical Provide input into or develop new products or processes Strategic Establish and implement business strategies with a longer-term focus Supplier Relationship Management "SRM" Specialist Page 3 of 7
4 Innovation Make/recommend minor changes Develop improved day to day processes Make major improvements or changes to ways of working Lead innovation and change Support Supply Chain capability and ways of working change across Sydney Water Business and Suppliers Medium to high complexity in developing and optimising Sydney Water Supply market Safety Support the implement a Supply Chain Safety Management system that includes contractor safety management, materials handling (equipment and manual), hazardous materials handling, plant and equipment, storage and transportation Section 3: Knowledge/skills/experience Knowledge Relevant Tertiary, business or similar qualifications, and or role experience Experience Skills 3-5 years working at a category specialist, or technical specialist, contracts manager or commercial manager (preferably in the construction industry) level. Experience in Staff supervision Has applied Supplier Relationship Management excellence in a multi-faceted, corporate environment Has partnered with internal stakeholders in gaining acceptance and delivering additional value in adopting "Best in Class" Supplier Relationship Management practices Has supported the application of Supplier Relationship Management in a multi-faceted, corporate environments Experience in partnering and collaborative arrangements and panel management Good understanding of "Best in Class" procurement capability (People, Process & Technology) that is required within a Supplier Relationship Management framework. Has worked with internal stakeholders in gaining acceptance in adopting "Best in Class" procurement processes and contract management practices. Good understanding of supplier negotiation methodologies as applied within a supplier relationship management framework. Good communications, influencing, presentation, project management and networking skills Ability to balance priorities/workload and operate cross functionally and to influence cultural change Deep understanding of construction contracts in terms of the legal, contractual and commercial structures including the Security of Payments act, claims & variations process and dispute resolution mechanisms Ability to manage a panel of contractors to ensure high performance, fit for purpose and value for money outcomes Additional notes: Desirable Exposure to and or knowledge of capital projects & construction industry Specific category, business or product knowledge where required 3 Supplier Relationship Management "SRM" Specialist Page 4 of 7
