2 A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF ICCEA 2017 Thank you for your interest in the International Congress on Controlled Environment Agriculture, known as ICCEA I would like to invite you to attend the second ICCEA 2017 conference scheduled for May 17th thru 19th, This exciting and informative educational conference will be held in the Republic of Panama, the dynamic Central American nation known as the Hub of the Americas. Panama s geographical location is strategically located between North and South America, has a dollar-based economy, stable democratic government, robust economy and a business-friendly atmosphere all making Panama an ideal location for this exciting agricultural event. 6 PANAMA CITY, PANAMA MAY 17-19, 2017 HOTEL EL PANAMA AND CONVENTION CENTER PARTICIPATION: At this exciting event we are expecting the participation of more than 600 attendees and over 60 exhibitors; all specialized in agriculture, indoor vertical farms, greenhouses and Ag Tech initiatives in the Americas and around the world. Note: As of June, 2016, we have only 49 booths available. ABOUT THE EVENT: If you are interested in targeting the Americas with an emphasis on the Latin American market, the ICCEA 2017 is the place for your company to participate. Progressive governments in the region are helping growers to apply technology for food production in various forms of CEA. Leading the way include the growing methodologies used in greenhouses and indoor vertical farm food production (hydroponics, aeroponics and aquaponics). There has been an explosion of greenhouse expansion and development, including all types of equipment and materials which remain in high demand. The Government of Panama, for example, has established a special department within the Ministry of Agriculture (MIDA) for the design, training and application of greenhouse technology throughout the country. Additionally, the government is offering a cash-back incentive/subsidy to farmers who develop greenhouses and indoor food production facilities of up to 50% of the investment of structure, equipment and materials. The local (Panamanian) Agricultural Bank is offering 0% and 2% long-term loans to develop protected agriculture. Since ICCEA 2015, over 10 new greenhouse projects are either in operation or in various stages of development - and many more will be developed in the coming years. A PUSH FOR CEA BY GOVERNMENTS, ASSOCIATIONS AND FARMERS IS INTENSIFYING IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE ICCEA 2017 WILL PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO POSITION YOUR COMPANY AS A PREMIER SUPPLIER TO THIS GROWING REGION.
