Holographix LLC Overview 2018 High quality custom replicated optics and surface relief patterns in production volumes

One location in Marlborough, MA. 15,000 sq. ft. facility with additional space available for expansion Business based on proprietary replication technology Facility outfitted for volume manufacturing of high quality optics and surface relief patterned components Management committed to maintaining Holographix position as a leader in the replicated component and sub-assembly markets

1985 Holographix Inc. is established 2000 Holographix is acquired by publicly traded telecom company, Avanex Corp. (now Oclaro) 2003 Holographix is re-acquired by management and operates once again as a privately held company 2017 Holographix moves into new state-of-the-art 15,000 sq ft facility in Marlborough, MA Today Holographix is a recognized leader in the custom microlens array and optical waveguide markets

Currently >30 customers and growing Industries served: Analytical chemistry, aerospace, consumer electronic, display, defense, life sciences, medical laser, metrology, spectroscopy, storage, telecom, and tunable laser Customers include: BAE Systems, Celera Motion, Coherent, Cynosure, Newport, Nidek, and PerkinElmer, as well as numerous other high profile companies.

Holographix Core Competencies Include: Custom Diffraction Grating, Microlens Array, Diffuser Design Thin Film Coating Modeling Custom Manufacturing of Replicated Optics Opto-Mechanical Assembly Large Area Ion-Beam Milling

Set up to rapidly respond to customer requirements Manufacturing operation uses a customized work order/traveler system Quality control is driven by a rigorous ISO E certified Quality Assurance Program Long-term relationships established with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality products

Holographix facility is equipped with precision metrology equipment and a knowledgeable staff trained to operate the equipment. Equipment List Includes: Confocal Microscope Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Vision Measurement Systems (VMS) Phase Shifting Interferometers Automated diffraction grating efficiency testers Customized optical systems for manufacturing and testing of diffraction gratings

Holographix offers optical design support using the following software packages: Optical Design for Diffraction Gratings, Microlens Arrays and Diffusers: Zemax Grating Diffraction Efficiency Modeling: PCGrate GSolver Thin Film Coating Design: Essential Macleod Opto-Mechanical Design: SolidWorks DraftSight

Holographix is a Custom Manufacturer of: Replicated Gratings, Microlens Arrays, and Mirrors Replicated Nano- and Micro-Surface Relief Patterns Diffractive Waveguide Manufacturing Replicas/Stampers from supplied Masters Optical Sub-Assemblies Thin film coatings to support production

Proprietary Replication Polymers: Room temperature UV curable polymers Eliminates thermal stress equating to higher fidelity Uncured polymers exhibit excellent flow characteristics Allows for manufacture of high aspect ratio relief patterns Cured polymers exhibit desirable properties Excellent adhesion to substrate Excellent release from mold Refractive indices ranging from 1.4 to 1.68 are available Thermally stable from 50 to >+200 degrees C Chemically resistant to most solvents, acids, and bases UV durable and transparent from λ350nm to 2700nm Low surface roughness due to absence of release layer

Custom Manufactured Products:

Product Applications: Grating-Based Spectrometer Systems Waveguide-Based HUDs and HMDs Microlens Array-Based Sensor Systems Head-Up Display Aesthetic Laser Systems Tunable Laser Systems Holix Micro-Fluidic Devices Micro-Structured Antireflective Surfaces

Advantages Include: Cost-effective approach to low, medium, and high volume production without compromising quality Microwells Reduced risk to initial master investment through multiple generations of replicated stampers Proven ability of replicated stampers for production of nickel shims for injection molding and hot embossing High repeatability from part-to-part and batch-to-batch Microfluidic Pattern Antireflective moth-eye surface

1 Master Mold/Relief Pattern Dispensed UV Curable polymer Submaster Substrate At least one substrate must be UV transparent 2 UV Light Submaster Substrate Assemble and room temperature UV cure

Submaster 3 Demold 4 Dispensed UV Curable polymer Submaster Replica Substrate Assemble/UV Cure Submaster 5 6 Demold UV Light Finished Replicated Part

Original Master Finished Replicated Part Surface shape precisely replicated to <1/10λ Polymer is highly transparent from 350nm to 2700nm Can be coated with a variety of thin-films

Holographix has developed an Ion-Beam Milling process to create large area blazed gratings from replicated binary gratings. This capability allows us to create both small and large waveguides and other products with high optical throughput.

Holographix offers a cost-effective solution for the production of high quality aspheres in OEM quantities For use in either transmission or reflection Can be produced on low-cost spherical surfaces Aspheric Mirrors Higher production rates and lower cost compared to grinding and traditional polishing without reduction of quality Higher repeatability part-to-part compared to polishing Aspherics can be used in place of multi-element lens assemblies

Holographix offers flat, spherical, and aspheric mirrors on metal substrates Advantages Include: Minimized system weight and cost. Simplified system design by eliminating glass substrate, placing the mirror surface directly onto the metal mount. Metal Mirrors Machinable materials (Al, Be, etc.) can be used to produce replica substrates: Pre-machined alignment tabs, mounts, and other design features Direct assembly into the final system Matching CTE for reduced distortion over temperature Design and manufacturing flexibility at a lower unit cost than conventional glass mirrors in many cases.

Holographix has developed and optimized a cost-effective high-speed, high-fidelity, replication technology that has been successfully applied across several industries Holographix is well-positioned to service the growing demand for high quality replicated optics and surface relief patterns in production volumes Holographix proven experience in the production of replicated gratings and microlenses has led to significant benefits for companies requiring micro and nano patterned surfaces
