Run in stand-alone, or central and remote modes, Change is powerful because it enables geographically remote users to login via their Web browser to the central server and perform any change request (CR), task-based submission or transition they need. Once the CR or task is edited or moved to a new state, it is automatically synchronized in real-time to the correct remote databases, thereby eliminating the chance for errors and assuring that the proper work is performed on the right target. A remote server acts as a proxy between the central server and remote development databases. A remote server is needed when you want databases that are hosted by different IBM Rational Synergy servers to be part of the central server.
