2 1 Introduction Civil Project Partners is a business established in 2015 bringing together the strengths of two experienced professionals to provide Civil Estimating, Project Planning, Risk Management, Facilitation and Modelling services to the Civil Construction industry. We work with project owners, designers, consultants and contractors who wish to understand the answer to the burning questions How much it costs? How long it takes to construct? What are the risks? 2 Location Our office based in Spring Hill, Brisbane that staffs a small team of focused professionals skilled in cost estimating, planning, risk and opportunity modelling and project management. 3 Services We have a range of services that can be offered throughout the various stages of a project from conception through to handover. Area Tool Description Cost Estimating Expert Estimation 2014 and Genesis Expert Estimation is an estimating software package designed to give you the essential tools required to produce accurate first principles estimates. Programming Oracle Primavera P6 Microsoft Project A scheduling tool that handles large-scale, highly sophisticated and multifaceted projects. Allows the programming of large scale projects of up to 100,000 activities with unlimited resources and an unlimited number of target plans. Risk Analysis Performs risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation to show you many possible outcomes and tells you how likely they are to occur. 3

Our staff all are qualified in the field of civil engineering with a strong background in the delivery of projects. Team Member Short Bio Ryan O Neill, BE (Civil), MBus (App. Finance), 16 years experience Cost estimating Programming Risk Workshop facilitation Ryan has worked through numerous positions from Site Engineer, Project Engineer and Project Manager across interstate highway projects to urban roadworks. Ryan has provided civil estimating, planning and risk services to the industry since 2008 working in various delivery models including alliancing, early contractor involvement, schedule of rates and hard dollar. Chris Dale, BE (Civil), 18 years experience Cost estimating Programming Risk Workshop facilitation After graduating, Chris worked for a brief period as an estimator then worked his way through the ranks of engineering management working on a number of civil and building projects in Australia, PNG and United Kingdom gaining invaluable site experience. Following these experiences, he joined Seymour Whyte Constructions for many years where he held a Senior/Lead Estimator role. Chris has worked on many large projects as lead estimator including Abbot Point Coal Terminal, Townsville Port Access Road and Townsville Port Inner Expansion Jackie Ng, BE (Civil), 19 years experience Cost estimating Jackie commenced his post-graduate career on-site delivery highway and major infrastructure works in Singapore. Since moving to Australia in 2006, Jackie has been involved with major contractors such as Leighton Contractors (now CPB), OHL and Ostwald Bros. Jackie s experience covers both TMR and RMS specifications as both a project engineering and cost estimating roles. 4

5 Team Member Short Bio Karen van Schagen, BE (Civil), 11 years experience Cost estimating Procurement Karen has attained experience from government to contractors across fields such as structures, road maintenance and traffic management throughout her 10 years experience. Karen has a strong background in delivery and can analyse construction methodologies in detail. Karen s role is to develop cost estimates through performing quantity takeoffs, first principle cost estimates and construction methodologies. Glenn Kovarik, BE (Civil), 26 years experience Programming Risk Glenn has worked for numerous contractors locally and internationally in the delivery of roads and bridges infrastructure. Since 2008, Glenn has focused primarily in being a project programmer and has developed highly focused skills using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project in developing schedules. Glenn is also skilled in risk analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis (formerly Pertmaster). Luke Hare, Associate Diploma (Civil), 28 years experience Cost estimating Programming Risk Luke has a highly developed knowledge and experience of project bid management, planning, programming, including managing many specialist disciplines and construction methodologies. Luke manages and applies detailed analysis and evaluation for project best outcomes. 5

6 8 Previous Projects Flinders Highway Upgrade, 14B and 14E Status: Commission complete, 2017 Project Owner: TMR (Cloncurry) Capital Works Cost: ~$5M Project Background The Flinders Highway services an area of high existing and potential regional and national economic importance and has possible losses to productivity, as a result of extended closures in any year. This route is recognised as having flood reliability problems. The Flinders Highway has 114 identified crossings (floodway, culverts or bridges) along its length that are subject to flooding. Scope of works Develop a clear understanding of the customer requirement Identify all plausible options that could satisfy the requirement Develop and cost an approved recommended option to a level that enables a comparative evaluation against non-preferred options. The level of detail required in this phase is governed by the need to define the approved recommended option. Services provided Options and Business Case cost estimates (P50/90) Construction programme Risk facilitation and modelling (planned and unplanned risk) Options analysis and business case cost reports in line with PCEM 6

7 William Angliss Drive/ Mervyn Crossman Drive Roundabout Upgrade Status: Commission complete, 2016 Project Owner: Townsville City Council Capital Works Cost: $5M Project Background Upgrade to the existing intersection of William Angliss Drive and Mervyn Crossman. The new configuration introduces a roundabout to improve connectivity to the William Ross High School, Southern Cross Catholic College and sporting fields. In addition to this, improvements to local stormwater drainage to increase flood immunity for the local area. Scope of works Develop a clear understanding of the customer requirement Identify all plausible options that could satisfy the requirement Develop a detailed design P50/90 cost estimate for local council (TCC) to aid in evaluation at the completion of the competitive tendering process Services provided Detailed design cost estimate (P50/90) Construction programme Risk facilitation and modelling (planned and unplanned risk) Detailed design cost report based on the PCEM 7

8 Redland Bay Road Avalon Rd to Taylor Rd (Ch km) Status: Commission complete, 2017 Project Owner: TMR (Metro) Capital Works Cost: $2M Project Background A number of accidents have been recorded on the Redland Bay Road involving head on collisions. TMR Metro have decided to apply a wide centreline treatment to help mitigate further collisions. A 3.5km section of Redland Bay Road involving pavement widening, drainage upgrades, road furniture and line marking improvements was part of the scope. CPP s involvement was to provide the risk adjusted P50/90 cost estimate for the preliminary and detailed designs. CPP s final deliverable was the cost estimate report at each design stage. Scope of works Develop a clear understanding of the customer requirement; Validate budget at concept, provide cost input into design process Develop a preliminary and detailed design P50/90 cost estimate for TMR to aid in evaluation at the completion of the competitive tendering process Services provided Preliminary and detailed design cost estimate (P50/90) Construction programme Risk facilitation and modelling (planned and unplanned risk) Preliminary and detailed design cost estimate report in line with the PCEM 8

9 Cape River Bridge Upgrade Status: Commission complete, 2016 Project Owner: TMR (Townsville) Capital Works Cost: $20M Project Background The existing Cape River Bridge is located approximately 116km South of Charters Towers on the Gregory Developmental Road 98B. The existing crossing consists of a six span, transversely stressed, prestressed concrete (PSC) deck unit bridge, with an adjoining length of causeway on the northern approach. The substructure consists of driven reinforced concrete (RC) square piles and in-situ RC headstocks. TMR proposal includes for the replacement of this structure with a new 9 span bridge offline with associated roadworks and new drainage structures. Existing structure to be demolished. Scope of works Develop a detailed design P50/90 cost estimate for DTMR to aid in evaluation at the completion of the competitive tendering process Services provided Detailed design cost estimate (P50/90) Construction programme Risk facilitation and modelling (planned and unplanned risk) Detailed design cost report based on the PCEM 9
