Our products and services are provided to over 45 countries around the world. Wind farm grid interconnection solutions Case study: Rhyl Flats offshore wind farm Rhyl Flats Wind Farm is located 5 miles from the North Wales coast covering an area of 3.9 square miles. Ormazabal UK provided all the MV switchgear used to interconnect the 25 turbines offshore. The switchgear, protection scheme and SCADA control were all integrated onto a single base frame designed to fit directly into the turbine transition piece. The switchgear was packaged and installed within the transition piece offshore for up to 12 months prior to the turbines being installed. Providing a complete solution considerably reduced offshore works in relation to installation and commissioning. The development of its MV internal grid confirmed Ormazabal as one of the leaders in the supply of customized switchgear for offshore power generation. The level of specialization required in Rhyl Flats, enhances our ability to adapt our facilities to the requirements of the installation, as well as our flexibility in dialogue with the client. 5
