5 Promotion of the international environmental cooperation with Asian areas Fukuoka has experience in overcoming pollution issues in the past. Using its accumulated environmental technologies and know-how, the prefecture contributes to environmental improvement by exchanging environmental technologies and information for human resource development with Asian regions with which the prefecture has made friendship agreements.
