Auditors can and should play a role in ensuring that the processes and systems that underpin the CX are actually effective. Internal auditors can play an integral role in the organisation to ensure that cybersecurity risks are addressed appropriately. This session will address the following questions: What are the emerging trends in cyber security? Why is cyber security the number one issue for Boards and management? How do you know if your organisation will be a target? What should be in your audit plan to assist your organisation to mitigate cyber threats? What is the critical role of internal audit and who is ultimately responsible for cyber security? How can cyber security preparedness most effectively be reported across the organisation? What does a good cyber security mitigation plan look like? Internal Auditors have a role to provide appropriate assurance over these challenging processes. Internal auditors play a critical role both validating the effectiveness of, and identifying improvement opportunities in key controls. We are stereotyped and carry a stigma that precedes us. To overcome this we need to create a new brand. But brands are built on people. To transform the internal audit brand you need to transform yourself, become the auditor you always wanted to be. In this session Christine Young will share her personal experiences and practical how to steps in creating a successful brand and also draw on examples from some of the top people in sport, business and entertainment. A range of concepts and techniques will be covered such as: We all have a personal brand by default, but is it what we want? Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a fast moving disruptive technology that can deliver material improvements in customer experience, efficiency and control environments. RPA and other technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), are increasingly changing the nature of work. This session will explore these automation technologies and what it means for risk management and internal auditors. Understand what RPA is (and isn t), and how it fits into the broader landscape of automation technologies available to transform business operations How businesses have been, are currently, and are planning to using RPA to achieve key business objectives Managing the impact of the technology on areas such as risk management and the workforce What does it mean for internal audit functions?
