The appraisals included an analysis of technical conditions, institutional capacities and proposal for infrastructure investments and institutional strengthening. 1) Institutional concept for the regional water utility Studendnica. The assessment focused on the current technical concept and on present institutional performances and presented several options for integrating six water supply enterprises into a regional association. The scope of work entailed discussions with the authorities of involved municipalities and government institutions. A workshop served to identify options for a future cooperation. 2) A set of prioritized infrastructure investment options and proposals for institutional strengthening for the municipal utilities in Bitola and Tetovo. The options partially covered the water supply of the municipality of Prilep. 3) Project proposals in four Macedonian regions regarding technical feasibility and financial viability. The institutional performances of the municipal water utilities in the regions were also evaluated and proposals to strengthen the institutional capacity were developed in order to improve water supply and wastewater collection and treatment Page 10
