The Port of Seattle is a municipal corporation created on September 5, 1911 by the voters of King County. The Port of Seattle is divided into operating divisions, plus other departments that support the divisions and the broad mission of the Port: 1) Aviation Division, 2) Capital Development Division, 3) Real Estate Division, and 4) This job analysis is for an individual working as a Tour Group Coordinator. Individuals working as Tour Group Coordinators are part-time, seasonal employees that are staged at various locations at or near Sea-Tac Airport to ensure the safety of passengers/pedestrians transferring to and from buses at airport facilities, and to coordinate the flow of buses in and out of designated parking areas. Workers are typically rotated between various locations on a weekly basis. Tasks Assigned to Tour Group Coordinator Direct passengers/pedestrians walking in the North and South cruise ship transportation lots during cruise ship season (typically May through October). Ensure that pedestrians are using the crosswalks and sidewalks while moving between check-in and pick-up areas. Document buses using the Port of Seattle facilities for billing purposes. Create receipts for billing purposes. While working in off-site lot, contact worker(s) at the

2 Page 2 of 7 airport via 2-way radio to obtain parking space assignments. Communicate assigned parking space information to bus drivers and instruct drivers when to proceed to the airport lot. Direct bus drivers into and out of assigned parking spaces at the airport. Worker s Skills and Traits Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have excellent communication skills. Must have some knowledge of radio communications. Ability to deal with people in a professional manner. Ability to follow directions closely. Ability to work in a safe manner. Machinery, Tools, Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment 2-way radio. Clipboard and report forms. Pens. Time clock. May work behind a counter. May have chair or stool on which to sit at the counter. Handheld remote control gate opener. Workers are required to wear a safety vest. Education / Training High school diploma or GED. Valid Washington State driver s license, or the ability to obtain one, is required. Some experience in airport, cruise ship, and/or ground transportation operations is preferred. Workers must be a member or join Union Local 9 within 30 days of employment. Per the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT): General Lot Attendant Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP): 2 (Thirty days or less)
