2 About us Gippsland Water is the second largest regional urban water corporation by revenue in Victoria, comprising a diverse, complex and geographically dispersed asset base spread across a 5000 km 2 region which is serviced through an asset base of in excess of $1 billion. We exist to deliver reliable, high-quality water, wastewater and waste recovery services to ensure the economy and liveability of the central Gippsland region. Our service area is diverse in area and needs, from the fast growing region in the west, to the transitioning challenges of the Latrobe Valley to providing water and wastewater services to Victoria s largest industrial water uses. There has been significant change throughout the Gippsland region, in particular, the closure of major businesses. While this changing landscape presents many challenges to Gippsland Water, it also highlights the importance of the role Gippsland Water plays in the region, and the role we play in the region s transition. To enable the corporation to meet these needs Gippsland Water has introduced a new approach and strategy that better reflects the needs of the communities and positions the organisation to deliver sustainable environmental and financial outcomes. 3 5 KEY ACCOUTABILITIES The Risk and Resilience Administrator is accountable for assisting in ensuring that Gippsland Water meets the requirements of the AS Risk Management, ISO Business Continuity, Victorian Government Risk Management Framework, the Emergency Management Act 2013 and other legislation in relation to risk and security management. The Risk and Resilience Administrator must ensure both the day to day needs of risk management are fulfilled and that the organisation maintains a strategic focus on all aspects of risk management. 6 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Risk Management Assist the Risk and Resilience Leader with the development, implementation and supervision of the organisation s risk management framework, including; risk management processes and systems, business resilience planning, liability management and insurance. Update the corporate risk register and control assessment reporting process as well as maintain infrastructure elements (e.g. management reporting, external reporting). Assist in the preparation and submission of reports to the Gippsland Water Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Risk Management Committee. Assist in the identification, business case development, consultation and implementation of Risk Management Software. Business Continuity Management Assist the Coordinator with the development, implementation and supervision of the organisation s Business Continuity Framework, policy, and reporting to ensure compliance with Australian Standards; Develop and maintain a register of all Business Continuity Plans across Gippsland Water, ensuring plans are current, in line with Australian Standards and test outputs are reviewed and stored in central register. In association with the Risk and Resilience Leader and relevant Managers, assist with the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for all essential business processes and core functions. Security Management Assist with the maintenance of the register of all physical security measures at each site; alarm systems, access codes, key and security access Assist with the maintenance and review of policies and procedures in respect to security across the organisation. Provide Security Awareness induction / training to new employees and the on-going briefings and training requirements including customer requested training Administration of physical security functions include maintaining access controls that limit the personnel entering specific sites etc

4 Develop and maintain a central register of all security and emergency management infrastructure at each Gippsland Water site. Provide administrative support in the management of the Security Services contract. Insurance Management Maintain all records related to insurance claims (except for worker s compensation on behalf of the organisation) ensuring all records related to claims are managed in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 Assist the Coordinator in dealing with customers who may be affected by a GW incident eg Sewer Spill, water inundation from a burst main etc. Assist with the annual insurance policy renewal process. Compile the quarterly ELT Insurance and Damages claims report including trend analysis Chief Fire Warden Attend emergency drills at other sites to provide support / feedback to the Chief Warden Provide minutes for meetings conducted and attended by the Chief Warden across the organisation. Complete and maintain the emergency evacuation checklist for each evacuation and provide information to the SHE Committee and ELT. Coordinate training of new and existing office wardens to ensure currency of skills. 7 KEY CHALLENGES Key challenges for this role include notifying the organisation of current requirements and proposed changes to relevant legislation. Other key challenges are the timely and accurate reporting of Gippsland Water s performance to external regulatory and statutory agencies, and key internal stakeholders including the Gippsland Water Board, Risk Management Committee, Audit and Risk Committees, relevant workgroups etc. In addition the ongoing maintenance of the Risk Management Framework for, reporting, procedural management and undertaking corrective actions in order to continue to maintain Gippsland Water s compliance. The incumbent must develop and maintain a broad network of contacts across the organisation to ensure currency of policy and procedure and to identify and manage stakeholder interdependencies. 8 JUDGEMENT & REASONING This position requires accurate responses made under pressure, within limited time frames and with conflicting priorities. Working in accordance with organisational delegations and guidelines the Risk & Resilience Administrator will need to demonstrate the ability to determine creative and innovative

5 solutions that enhance internal and external customer relationships. The incumbent must have an understanding of State and Commonwealth Government legislation and policies relating to risk and emergency management and the activities undertaken by Gippsland Water. 9 INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/COMMUNICATIONS The incumbent must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation, to communicate and explain risk principles and technical details of our corporate insurance to a variety of customers and stakeholders.
