3 Types of Apprenticeship Apprenticeships are increasingly recognised as the gold standard for work-based training. There are over 100,000 employers offering Apprenticeships in more than 160,000 locations; there are more than 250 different types of Apprenticeships available offering over 1,200 job roles. 7 Raising the Participation Age (RPA) Raising the participation age (RPA) does not mean young people must stay in school; they will able to choose one of the following options: Full-time education, such as school, college or home education Work-based learning, such as an Apprenticeship Part-time education or training if they are employed, self-employed or volunteering for more than 20 hours a week. 7 Presentation title 00/00/2012
