1 The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is an independent, statutory company registered in terms of the Companies Act. The South African government, represented by the Minister of Transport, is the sole shareholder and owner of SANRAL. The Agency has a distinct mandate to finance, improve, manage and maintain the national road network (the economic arteries of South Africa) and is committed to carrying out its mandate by protecting and preserving the environment through context-sensitive solutions. The South African national road network consists of km of roads. This network seamlessly connects major cities, towns and rural areas, supporting economic growth and social development and immensely contributing to job creation in the country. SANRAL adds value to all the developmental initiatives in the fields of transport, education, health, and development of communities. It revels in its role as partners in the development of all South African communities and sees this as closely aligned to our core function. SANRAL makes a significant contribution towards road safety by maintaining and improving our road environment, and by identifying and addressing road safety concerns. The organisation also aligns itself with local and international road safety authorities in order to learn and improve the safety of our road users. BELLVILLE PERMANENT TO: REPORTS TO: Career Junction / SANRAL Staff HUMAN RESORCE PROFESSIONAL DATE: 04 September 2017 SALARY: Market-related Position Description/ Objective Providing specialised administrative Human Resource services to employees and assist HR Professional in pursuing business objectives, to foster positive relationships, to increase job satisfaction, and ensure all employees comply with HR policies and procedures while enhancing their employment experience. Maintain optimal employment levels by providing accurate HR admin related service. Page 2 of 6

3 Educational Qualifications Matric/ Grade 12 National Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent Professional Registration(s) SABPP registration Years of Relevant Experience 5 years in the HR Field Skills: Strong administration skills Exceptional interpersonal skills Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in secretarial and general administration. Be self-driven and solution orientated Be proficient MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Outlook. Accurate and speed in typing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Technical Competencies: Ability to plan and organise appropriately Accuracy and consistency in reporting Knowledge of relevant acts pertaining to HR Practices General knowledge of SANRAL s core business functions Key Responsibilities and Duties: Training Bookings - Coordinate training for the Western Region staff - Liaise with training suppliers and feedback to staff - Conduct the administration of staff training attendance at Western Region and maintain record in the Annual Training Report (ATR) Page 3 of 6

4 - Maintain records of planned training needs quarterly and update the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) accordingly - Consolidate ATR & WSP for the Western Region GENERAL ADMINISTRATION - Maintain/ Compile files for Performance Management Contracts, Midyear reviews & Final Reviews - Audit Performance Management Documents to ensure correct dates, signatures and IDP s are completed - Compile personal file for all new SANRAL staff - Ensure that new staff members have verified their credentials by an external background screening company prior to commencement date of employment. - Audit personnel files to ensure that all documents are in place and provide the Internal/External Auditors personnel related requested information - Assist with compiling role definitions for new employee in accordance with the role specification documentation - File personnel documentation accurately and timeously - Capture manual leave forms - Filing of all leave forms in chronological order - Ensure correctness on the forms for audit purposes. INTERNAL BURSARY ADMINISTRATION - Manage the internal bursary program for the Agency - Maintenance of internal bursars files and database ensuring data integrity. - Administering the student reimbursements - Issuing bursary agreements to student upon receipt of an approved memo - Maintain a good relationship with the institutions - Handle student enquiries and do follow ups - Compilation, reconciliation of student information for reporting Page 4 of 6
