Liza: Your interview will be moved to Thursday at exactly 10:00am. Mary: It s fine with me. I am available on that day. Liza: That s great to hear. I will now finalize your schedule. 4 II. GRAMMAR REVIEW: Topic: Coordinating Conjunctions (5-6 minutes) General Description: Coordinating conjunctions connect words,phrases, and clauses. And, but, for, nor, or, so, and yet these are the seven coordinating conjunctions. To remember all seven, you might want to learn this acronym: FANBOYS F = for A = and N = nor B = but O = or Y = yet S = so Remember: Coordinating conjunctions can only join two clauses that are equal or similar. It always comes between the words or clauses that they join. Examples: a. or - to suggest an alternative The director or the secretary can attend the meeting. b. but - to suggest that one idea is in contrast to another Alex loves to attend conferences but hates small meetings. c. for - to suggest a reason Adam was awarded for getting the highest number of sales.
