2 IAMWARM / SV / WRO / SVB / NCB / 6-7 sanctioned in G.O 1 st cited was Technically Sanctioned for Rs.l58. and registered as 1 CE (T) / 7-8. The above work has been awarded to Mis. AMR Constructions Ltd, No. 88, Sari Konda Mansion, Ground Floor, Phase III, Kamalapuri Colony, Hydrabad - 73 by the Tender Award Committee for a contract value of Rs.l,86,8,152/-. Necessary Agreement has been executed after collecting performance security vide Middle Cauvery Basin Circle, Trichy. agreement No. 13 LS / IAMWRM /27-8 with a period of contract as 18 months time. Under pre review category and the contract has been accepted by the W orid Bank vide WBR.No:- 61 / dt The site for the above work was handed over to the contractor on and the work has to be completed in all respects by as per ~agreement condition 'i.e' 18 months time. But only 61 % of works have been completed so far (upto ). The contractor in his letter dated has stated that due to continuous non-seasonal rainfall, storage of water in the tanks and flow of water in the ani cut and supply channel, the work could not be completed as per the agreement and requested Extension of time for completing the entire work by Based on the request of the contractor, the Executive Engineer, WRD, Ariyaru Basin Division, Trichy has granted Extension of time for completion of the whole work up to as per condition '28 of condition of contract stipulated in the agreement. In this connection, the following details are furnished. Frequent notices have been issued to the contractor, to speed up the work & to complete the work as per mile stone without short fall. But the contractor has not taken necessary follow up action and then only liquidated damages have been imposed for not achieving the mile stone. Copy of the warning Notices have been issued to the contractor from department side are enclosed herewith. So far an amount of Rs.36. Lakhs have been recovered from the contractor as liquidated damages. Revised programme for balance works obtained from the contractor IS enclosed herewith.

3 It is also reported that, by considering the balance Quantities to be executed, as well as the monsoon period, the Engineer had granted extension of < time upto Since the convenient working period will be started from March to June 21 only the non working monsoon season started period from 11/9 to 211 has not been accounted in this programme. The ayacutdars used this tank water for irrigation purpose. After the crop period, the tanks were filled up 25% of their own capacity. Hence the sluice and weir works cannot be completed.
