7 Electrical Test & Tag Electrical Test & Tag is a compulsory industry safety test for all electrical equipment Electrical Safety Act AS/NZS 3760:2010 Companies will be held accountable and may face legal issues if electrical safety is not assured. Companies need to develop a regular electrical safety auditing program for all electrical equipment. Equipment test periods vary depending on equipment type. Testing is performed on single and three phase machinery

8 Electrical Test & Tag Traditional approach to Test & Tag Traditional electrical safety testing was performed using a digital electrical multimeter Under the new standards (AS/NZS 3760:2010) this is no longer a compliant test method. In addition, using a multimeter, it is an extremely tedious, costly and time consuming method. 11 RCD Safety Auditing The Australian standards also include the validation of RCD s. In most cases this can be as important as other safety validation services as it ensures that in the event of a critical electrical issue the RCD with stop the flow of electric current. Australia building standards AS/NZS require the installation of smoke detectors in all domestic and commercial environments. 16 Microwave Radiation Leakage Today s work place safety standards require organisations to ensure that microwave radiation levels are compliant with levels set out by the Radiation Health Committee - AS/NZS Microwave centric products can deteriorate over time cause radiation leakage that creates an OH&S event.
