1 Overview: Update signage in Lawn and Garden/OSLG. Spring Signage will be transitioned into Holiday Signage. Project will inlcude Endcap, Sidecap, Million Dollar Endcap, Column Signage, OSLG Pole Signage, Banners and Window Clings. Execution Dates: 5/13 thru 5/16 Estimated Time: 8 man hours Tools/Materials Required: Basic Hand Tools, razor and new blades, cordless drill Reporting: Report Time according to company policy Picture Requirements: Completed photos of signage. Photos must be clear. Make sure your camera picture resolution settings are 640 x 480. Paperwork: Lowe s I3PP sign off Dress Code: Lowe s Standards Safety Requirements: Make sure to follow all Lowe s and third party safety guidelines. Prior to Store Visit: Pre-call store to verify store has all materials. If not on hand call your corporate office to get tracking. During Store Visit: ISSGs must locate the Lowe s Department Manager of Product Services and inform him/her of the purpose of your visit to the store. If the Department Manager of Product Services is unavailable, the ISSG should contact the Lowe s Manager on Duty (MOD), Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager. Project Summary: -Locate the Signage Pallets: There should be one or two pallets of signage per store. There may be extra hardware and signage in these pallets. Do not trash anything recieved in the new pallets that is not used during your visit. All extra Materials are to be turned over to the PSA Manager. 2 Each kit will receive an Instruction & Execution Manual. Please note that this booklet is a generic document. All of the items that have been produced for this roll-out are in the manual. NOTE: NOT EVERY STORE WILL GET ALL COMPONANTS. This varies on many factors. NOTE ALSO: Each store WILL receive a packing list related to that particular store and the components it should receive. The Installers should have the components that are related to that store s spec. The Packing List will relate those components and whether or not there will be (1) or (2) cartons arriving. This too will be denoted on the packing list. Outside carton labels will be denote either 1 of 1 for stores receiving a single carton or 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 for stores receiving 2 cartons. -ALL SIGNAGE INSTALLED IS THE RED SUMMER SAVINGS SIGNAGE. There is a front and back to the endcap signage. Make sure the Summer Savings Signage is what the customers see. The only yellow signage that will be installed is the sun window clings going on the front door and OSLG door. -Spring Signage: Spring signage will be taken down and replaced with the Holiday signage. Palletize or blue cart any old signage as you remove it. Make sure to go through all the Spring signage before it is trashed with the PSA Manager. We need to ensure we do not discard any store use signage by accident. DO NOT THROW AWAY any hardware, C-channel, hooks or mounting clips. Give these materials to the PSA Manager. -Column Signs: Summer Holiday Saving column signage will be replacing Now s the time to Spring Signage. The Supergrip FFR Clips should already be attached to the column. Just replace the signage. If you need extra clips there should be extra sent in the new signage. Before After Re-use FFR clips that are already in place. Make sure the flat side with small indention is placed towards the column. 2

3 -Million Dollar Endcap: This Endcap will have an overlay with the signage. The white side overlay panels will be under the main over lay panel. Please follow the signage instruction guide for correct installation. The Million Dollar endcap is typically the first endcap customers see when entering the store (noted in red circle below). Main Entrance Before After Use 2 blue painters tape to hold the signs securely to the snap channel on the back of the sign. Follow signage instruction guide. -Seasonal Endcap Overlays: Follow in the signage installation manual for the progression of these overlays. It is very important this progression is correct. The signs will be flipped for the next promotion and it is critical that this is correct. The below print is only an example to show you the endcaps in lawn and garden that may be affected by this signage. Always follow the existing spring signage and make sure to follow the dictated progression. 3

4 -Seasonal Sidecap and Endcap Signage: Change out the affected sidecap signage. Please note they may need to be trimmed to fit in certain instances. Change out all affected endcap signage. Please note these may also need to be trimmed. The signage has different trim tick marks for variation of end cap size. Make sure to use a straight edge and sharp razor blade. Make sure to lay down cardboard when cutting these signs they have graphics printed front and back. Do not scratch the signs. Follow installation guide for details. Before After Tick Mark 4

5 -Main Entrance Door Clings: There may be two scenarios of door fronts: 2 panes or 4 panes. Pictured below is a 2 pane. This signage is a mesh cling and relatively easy to remove air bubbles. The kit will provide you a squeegee to assist in the air bubble removal. Follow installation instructions. -Garden Center Door: Make sure this signage is placed on the inside of the store. Glue side of the sign should be facing the OSLG area. Follow installation instructions. This is the current signage in place. Make sure to follow the installation manual for cleaning after the signage is removed. Classic will be sending in a spray bottle with cleaner. It will be in with the signage kit. DO NOT USE WINDEX! 6 Make sure that Door Clings are applied from inside the store. Glue side should be facing OSLG. -Cart Start Banners: In stores with the Cart Start you will be replacing the below banners. Follow Installation instructions. Stores that have had the Greenworks Project completed will not have the Cart Start. Before After -Garden Center T-Pole Topper: Replace T-Pole Toppers with new Red Summer Savings on the plant tables (please note there are no pictures below of the new signage). Make sure to drill a hole in each of the clips and secure with at zip tie. Follow installation instructions. 6

7 Existing clips should already be mounted to the plant table poles. In the event you need replacements they will be in the signage kit. Drill a hole in each clip on the pole at the base of the clip. Place a zip tie through the hole and around the pole. Tighten zip tie and clip off excess. This will keep signs secure in high winds. -Garden Center Holiday Banners: These banners need to be evenly spaced under the canopies in OSLG. Use below print for an example. These are secured to the rafters with zip ties. Make sure that Wooden Dows are placed in the sleeves on the bottom of the signage. Follow installation instructions. -The stores that are shipping early Friday 5/10 will not have the dowel rods for the banners being hung in the O/S Lawn & Garden area. Please pull dowel rods from inventory and ask the store to place on the store use bill out log 7

8 Main entrance to OSLG from parking lot -Red Bars show preferred location in this particular format. This is only for reference; all stores will have different formats. The key is to make sure they are spaced evenly along the main aisle at OSLG entrance. -Missing or Damaged Signage: If you are missing signage or have a damaged sign. Please call the below customer support number. Make sure that you have the P # and quantities prior to calling. P # s are on the packing slip. Customer support can also help with installation issues. Always call your Manager first to discuss any installation issues. Most issues can be handled in house. We do not need to bother the customer service hotline unless in cannot be resolved in house. They will be very busy during this project. Customer Service Number: Completion of Project: -Make sure that all signs are clean and free of dust. -Neatly re-pack any extra signage or materials sent in with the signage kit. Place in a location designated by the PSA Manager. -Take Pictures of completed signage installation and complete I3PP store sign off. -Walk the set with the PSA Manager, Manager on Duty, or Store Manager and get signed off. -Fax sign off to Make sure to keep a copy of the sign off in case there are issues with faxes. 8

9 MCTC Field Deployment Contractor/I3PP Signoff Form Instructions: The Lowe s Project Manager must sign the form upon completion of project. If a conditional signoff is required, the store manager or member of the management team is required to sign that listed tasks are completed. I3PP must obtain a copy to be sent with the final payment of work or payment will be refused.
