5 Integratin f SAP TM and SAP Event Management This cnfiguratin guide prvides yu with the necessary infrmatin fr cnfiguring the integratin f SAP Transprtatin Management (SAP TM) and SAP Event Management. Mst f the cnfiguratin described in this guide is already precnfigured in the SAP TM and the SAP Event Management systems. Hwever, due t individual system landscapes and business data, yu need t make sme changes in the implementatin phase. 6 1 Settings in SAP Transprtatin Management This sectin describes the cnfiguratin settings that are required in the SAP TM system fr the integratin with the SAP Event Management system. Integratin f SAP TM and SAP Event Management 6

7 1.1 Maintaining the Output Management in SAP Transprtatin Management Yu use this prcedure t maintain the utput management adapter fr a given business bject (BO) nde. Prcedure 1. Fr TOR Related Business Objects This prcedure refers t the Transprtatin Management business bjects Freight Unit (technical name FU), Freight Order (technical name TO), and Freight Bking (technical name BO). 1. 9 1.2 Registering the Inbund Queue fr Updates Yu use this prcedure t register the inbund queue fr updates frm SAP Event Management t SAP TM. Prcedure 1. In SAP TM, start the transactinsmqr. 2. 10 1.3 Setting Up Freight Unit, Freight Order, and Freight Bking Type Fr the integratin f SAP TM and SAP Event Management yu need t set up the Freight Unit type, Freight Order type, and Freight Bking type. Fr Instructin Integratin n additinal cnfiguratin is required. Instructin tracking is activated by the custmizing fr the Applicatin Interface -> Event Management relevance and PPF direct Output Agent enablement. Prcedure Settings fr Freight Unit Types 1. In Custmizing fr SAP TM, chse Transprtatin Management Planning Freight Unit Define Freight Unit Types. 2. Chse the freight unit that is t be tracked with SAP Event Management. 3. Enter the fllwing data: Under Executin Settings next t Executin Tracking Relevance, chse Executin Tracking with External Event Management. Under Event Management Settings next t Applicatin Object Type enter ODT30_FU. This is the applicatin bject that is t be tracked n the applicatin system. Under Event Management Settings next t Last Expected Event, chse the last expected event (fr example,unload_end). If this last expected event is sent frm the destinatin stp f a business dcument, this dcument is finished frm an executin perspective. Settings fr Freight Order Types 1. In Custmizing fr SAP TM, chse Transprtatin Management Freight Order Management Freight Order Define Freight Order Types. 2. Chse the freight rder type that is t be tracked with SAP Event Management. 3. Enter the fllwing data: Under Executin Settings next t Executin Tracking Relevance, chse Executin Tracking with External Event Management. Prpagate Executin Inf: This checkbx specifies whether an event that is reprted fr a freight rder is t be prpagated t the predecessr dcument (a freight unit in the visibility prcess). Select this checkbx t enable the prpagatin f events t the predecessr dcument. Under Event Management Settings next t Applicatin Object Type enter ODT30_TO. 12 1.4 Defining RFC Cnnectin t SAP Event Management System The RFC cnnectin t SAP Event Management and the definitin f the lgical system serve as base definitins fr cnnecting all systems t the SAP TM system. Yu can use this prcedure t define which f the cnnected systems is a SAP Event Management system. Prcedure 1. In Custmizing fr SAP TM, chse Integratin with Other SAP Cmpnents Event Management Interface Define System Cnfiguratin Define RFC Cnnectin t SAP EM. 2. Chse Create, and enter the fllwing data: RFC destinatin (example: EM1CLNT500) Cnnectin type:3 (Cnnectin t ABAP System) Descriptin fr yur RFC cnnectin 3. On the Technical Settings tab page, enter the fllwing data: Target Hst This is the hst name f yur SAP Event Management system (fr example, emsystem.wdf.sap.crp). System Number This is the SAP system number f yur SAP Event Management system (fr example, 29). 4. On the Lgn & Security tab page, enter the client, the user (fr example, ALEREMOTE), and the passwrd. 13 1.5 Defining Lgical System fr SAP Event Management Yu use this prcedure t define the lgical system in which SAP Event Management is lcated. Prcedure 1. In Custmizing fr SAP TM, chse Integratin with Other SAP Cmpnents Event Management Interface Define System Cnfiguratin Define Lgical System. 2. Chse New Entries, and enter the fllwing data: Lgical System Enter yur lgical system (fr example, EM1CLNT500). Name Enter the name f yur lgical system. Integratin f SAP TM and SAP Event Management 13

14 1.6 Defining SAP Event Manager Definitins Yu use this prcedure t define which f the cnnected systems is an SAP Event Management System. Prcedure 1. In Custmizing fr SAP TM, chse Integratin with Other SAP Cmpnents Event Management Interface Define Applicatin Interface Define SAP EM. 2. Chse New Entries and enter the fllwing data: Event Manager Enter the apprpriate ID (fr example, EM1CLNT500). EM Lgical System Enter the ID f the lgical system f yur SAP Event Management system that yu defined in the previus chapter (fr mre infrmatin, see Defining Lgical System fr SAP Event Management); example:em1clnt500. SAP EM Versin EnterSCM 4.0. Lcal Event Manager D nt select the checkbx. Lgical Destinatin Enter the name f the RFC destinatin (SAP Event Management system) that yu created in the previus (fr mre infrmatin, see Defining Lgical System fr SAP Event Management); example, EM1CLNT500. Synchrnus Cmmunicatin t Event Manager Deselect this checkbx t imprve perfrmance. Select this checkbx fr test purpses nly. In a prductive envirnment, we recmmend t use asynchrnus cmmunicatin. 21 2.2 Defining Lgical System fr SAP Transprtatin Management Yu use this prcedure t define the lgical system in which SAP TM is fund. Prcedure 1. In Custmizing fr SAP Event Management, chse Event Management General Settings in SAP Event Management Define Lgical System. 2. Chse New Entries and enter the fllwing data: Lgical System Enter yur lgical system fr Transprtatin Management, fr example, TM1CLNT910. Name Enter the name f the lgical system. 22 2.3 Defining Applicatin System The RFC cnnectin t the applicatin system and the definitin f the lgical system are the base definitins fr cnnecting all systems t the SAP Event Management system. Yu use this prcedure t specify which ne f these cnnected systems is an applicatin system. Prcedure 1. In Custmizing fr SAP Event Management, chse Event Management General Settings in SAP Event Management Define Applicatin System. 2. Chse New Entries and enter the fllwing data: Applicatin System Enter yur SAP TM system (fr example,tm1clnt910). Lgical System Enter the lgical name f the SAP TM system (fr example,tm1clnt910). Destinatin Enter the RFC cnnectin fr the SAP TM system (fr example, TM1CLNT910). Lcal Applicatin System D nt select this checkbx. 23 2.4 Assigning Prfile t Mapping Area By defining mapping prfiles, yu standardize the parameter infrmatin transferred frm the applicatin system t the SAP Event Management system. This enables yu t display different parameter names frm varius applicatin systems in a standardized way in SAP Event Management. If required, in the mapping prfile yu assign the parameter value sets, which yu have defined fr the cntrl and inf parameters r which SAP has predefined fr the system parameters. Yu can specify default values fr parameter mapping and fr the type f mapping used fr the parameters. Yu assign the mapping prfiles using the applicatin system and the applicatin bject type. 24 2.5 Defining Preprcessing Functins T ensure that delayed events fr Freight Orders, Freight Bkings, and Freight Orders are replicated t Transprtatin Management, sme entries in the preprcessing functins are required. Delay Events are nt replicated t Transprtatin Management. Fr mre infrmatin, see SAP Nte Prcedure 1. T imprt and activate the required entries fr the preprcessing functins, use business cnfiguratin set /SAPTRX/BC_V_EHPPF - Preprcessing Plug-In Functins. Start transactinscpr20 and activate BC set/saptrx/bc_v_ehppf. 2. In Custmizing f SAP Event Management, chse Event Management Event Messages, Status Queries, and Web Interface Define Criteria fr Event Message Prcessing. 3. 25 2.6 Assigning User t Web Transactins Yu assign a user t a Web interface transactin and t an existing user prfile s the apprpriate Web layut fr sending event messages and querying event handler infrmatin is available. 26 2.7 BAdI t Update Event Handler Data (Optinal Depending n Use Case) Business Add-In (BAdI) implementatin /SAPTRX/GEN_EH_S_IMPL is shipped inactive. This is the BAdI implementatin fr instructin display fr date infrmatin. T use the ODT30_INS - Instructin Visibility Prcess Implementatin, activate the crrespnding BAdI implementatin, /SAPTRX/GEN_EH_S_IMPL. 33 3.3 Scheduling the Reprt fr Trigger Prcessing in SAP Transprtatin Management SAP TM saves event messages frm SAP Event Management in the receiving business dcuments. SAP TM prcesses the events as fllws: Frward event t a business dcument Change the executin status f the business dcument If a business dcument (fr example, freight rder) is lcked, the SAP TM system cannt perfrm the abve actins. Instead, the system creates a trigger fr each failed actin. SAP TM uses reprt/scmtms/process_trigger_bgd t execute the triggers and perfrm the actins with as little delay as pssible. Prcedure Schedule and run reprt /SCMTMS/PROCESS_TRIGGER_BGD peridically.
