1 Business Analyst Perth; Full Time, Max Term Navitas is a diversified global education provider founded in 1994 that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment. On a 12 month maximum term contract, the Business Analyst is a member of a team responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of software solutions that facilitate Navitas business operations. The Business Analyst will be participating in business analysis activities undertaken within the development process, and supporting the development of scoping documentation and estimate tracking. Senior Business Analysts will work in a Scrum based Agile development environment providing the necessary support and guidance to both customers and development teams. Essential skills and experience Flexible approach to problem solving, characterised by the ability to conduct research on issues, analyse problems and recommend solutions. Capacity to engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the products meets its intended purposes. Good knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies Experience in working as a Business Analyst Tertiary qualification in Commerce, IT, Engineering or Management Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise own work to meet deadlines. Capacity to work independently to complete tasks. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Visio Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of SQL and Database servers Desirable Experience in working in the education sector. Good knowledge on one or more tools used for tracking the IT project work and IT service delivery PRINCE2 Foundation Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification IT Business Systems knowledge / project delivery. IT Development knowledge / project delivery. Knowledge in Business Process Mark-up Notation (BPMN) and Event Driven Process Chain (EPC) methodologies Basic awareness of IT Infrastructure including Active Directory, Cloud Services, Exchange/Office Page 1

3 Position Description Title: Business Analyst Division: Reports to: Navitas Group IT Division Business Analyst Supervisor 1. Overview and Objectives of the Position: Reporting to the Business Analyst Supervisor, the Business Analyst is a member of a team responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of software solutions that facilitate Navitas business operations. The Business Analyst will be participating in business analysis activities undertaken within the development process, and supporting the development of scoping documentation and estimate tracking. Senior Business Analysts will work in a Scrum based Agile development environment providing the necessary support and guidance to both customers and development teams. 2. Key Relationships: Chief Information Officer Global Head of IT Development Business Analyst Supervisor Project Manager Development Supervisor Web Developer Quality Assurance Engineers 3. Key Result Areas: Business Requirements Elicitation and Analysis Working with multiple stakeholders to capture requirements using various methods, including but not limited to interviews, document review, requirements workshops, site visits and teleconferences. Providing leadership and guidance to the team to make sure the requirements capturing activities are carried out with adequate details to facilitate the development activities. Ensure that documents meet all relevant specifications Provide feedback on current documentation and process activities. Assists the team in improving the current practises. Working closely with business to understand and challenge assumptions. Document process improvements to help the business achieve its strategies and participate in team activities to improve the process awareness. Page 3
4 Reviewing existing business processes and aligning to optimal practice to develop improvement scenarios involving process and/or technology. Engaging end users in suggested solutions while guiding the stakeholders to minimise product customisations. Interacting with technical and support teams to assist in prototyping, design, and planning of test cases. Provide support for the issues that are escalated by service desk and business. Conduct backlog refinement meetings as directed and participate in sprint planning activities. Ability to develop technical and functional documentation explaining the current system behaviour. Contributes to the professional standing of Navitas IT as a centre of excellence Providing analytical excellence for the enhancement of all development products. Identification of product enhancements and system integrations required due to additional business requirements Developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, other divisions and third parties and liaising closely with them. Dealing promptly and effectively with staff, other divisions and third parties on matters related to product awareness and improvements Help in the development and maintenance of standardised product development documents such as user stories, report stories, integration stories and system documentation Ensure the requirements are documented in the agreed templates and formats Provide ad-hoc reporting of work progression Contributes to the maintenance of a safe working environment, within their area of operations Maintain local workplaces that are safe and without risk to health. Ensuring relevant occupational health and safety regulations are complied with at local workplaces. 4. Qualifications and Selection Criteria Essential: i.
