One f: Micrsft Dynamics CRM Online Micrsft Dynamics CRM On-Premise (2011, 2013, r 2015) Yu need a licensed Micrsft Dynamics CRM user with administratr privileges fr use during the integratin. Scribe Adapter fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM r later. Check the Scribe Insight and Adapters Dwnlads page fr the mst current versin requirements. Befre yu cntinue: If yu upgrade yur adapters frm thse nted abve, verify with Scribe that the newer adapter versin is cmpatible with this versin f the template. After yu install and cnfigure all the prerequisite cmpnents, install the template and cnfigure it t fit yur business requirements. Back up yur databases Befre yu lad data int any live, r prductin envirnment, back up yur databases. Be sure yu have a plan fr restring the system t its riginal state. What needs t be backed up? Plan t cnfigure a test envirnment int which yu can lad the data frm these test runs withut affecting a live envirnment. Plan time fr testing Typically, yu must execute several test runs t achieve the desired results frm yur design and cnfiguratin changes. Planning t run multiple tests with subsets f the Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM data enables yu t test the cnfiguratin mre quickly. Set up crss-references fr picklist cnversins The Dynamics AX T Dynamics CRM Template includes and uses the Xref.ini file t cnvert picklist values between Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM. Yu must update this file fr yur implementatin befre cnfiguring the DTS files. Yu can edit the Xref.ini file after yu imprt the Insight Template using the Scribe Cnsle. Fr mre infrmatin, see Imprting the Template. Prerequisites Scribe templates use cmpnent architecture t build and deliver templates. This cmpnent architecture gives yu the flexibility t reuse and assemble the cmpnent pieces as building blcks, enabling yu t prvide different slutins withut having t redevelp them entirely fr each slutin. Yu can use the available cmpnents t build yur slutin, then supplement them as necessary by develping yur wn cmpnents as yur requirements dictate. After the cmpnents are installed and cnfigured, yu must verify they are wrking crrectly befre yu install the template. 14 Required Users T imprt the Dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM template, users with specific permissins are required n the Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM, and Insight servers. Dynamics AX Users T install, cnfigure, and use the template, yu must define: Administratr user A Dynamics AX user with Administratr permissins t cnfigure Dynamics AX and t use fr yur Dynamics AX cnnectin. Dynamics CRM Users T install, cnfigure, and use the template, yu must define the fllwing users: INTEGRATION user The template requires access t a Dynamics CRM user with INTEGRATION user permissins. This user can perfrm tasks in Dynamics CRM, such as updating submitted rders, that administrative users cannt perfrm. Run As user This is ften the same as the INTEGRATION user and is specified when yu cnfigure and review the Scribe DTS files. Ignre user This is usually the same as the INTEGRATION user and is nly used by the integratin when that user's changes shuld nt be published. Other required users depend n yur Dynamics CRM implementatin: Dynamics CRM On-Premises Yur site must have at least ne Administrative user in the PrivUser grup. This implementatin includes a built-in INTEGRATION user, which Scribe uses as the ignre user. N ther users are required. Dynamics CRM Online Yu must have a dedicated INTEGRATION user that can act as an ignre user, in additin t the Administrative user. Yu must explicitly assign privileges t the INTEGRATION user. The ignre user can be a nn-interactive user, wh des nt require a Client Access License. Scribe imprts the AssignIntegratinRle.dts file as part f the template. This file sets the INTEGRATION user and user access mde. This file is typically installed in..\scribe\cllabratins\dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM\CRM Cnfiguratin. 15 Insight Users Scribe Insight requires a user with PUBLIC access t the Scribe Internal database. Depending n the authenticatin methd fr Scribe Internal, this user is: SQL Authenticatin The default SQL user SCRIBE created when installing Scribe Insight. Windws Authenticatin The Windws user specified when installing Scribe Insight. Imprting The Template After yu dwnlad the template files nt yur Scribe server, yu can imprt the files t the Scribe Cnsle with the Scribe Imprt/Exprt Wizard. As part f the imprt prcess, yu prvide the cnnectin infrmatin fr yur envirnment. T Install The Template Files 1. Dwnlad the template package.spkz file frm the Scribe Templates and StarterPaks Dwnlad page and save it t yur desktp. 2. In the Scribe Cnsle, click Scribe Cnsle > Imprt/Exprt. The Scribe Imprt/Exprt Wizard appears. 3. Select Imprt a package and click Next. 4. Click Brwse and lcate the template package.spkz file. 5. Select the template package file and click Next. The Chse Cmpnents page appears. 6. Click Next. The Prerequisites dialg bx appears. 7. Cnfirm the prerequisites and click Next. The Cnnectins dialg bx appears. 8. Recnnect each cmpnent in the DSN/Server clumn using the parameters fr yur lcal envirnment. Recnnect the cmpnents in the rder they appear, beginning at the tp f the list and wrking dwn. Expand the Wizard page, then expand the Name clumn t see imprtant infrmatin abut yur cnnectins. Enter the ScribeInternal_MS ODBC cnnectin infrmatin: a. Click ScribeInternal_MS. b. Click Advanced. c. Select the Ignre Scribe metadata tables (ksync*) within the selected data surce ptin. d. Verify the Lg On user is an Admin user fr data view cnnectin purpses. 16 9. Click Cmmit. 10. If prmpted t reslve cnflicts, click OK. Yu can skip, replace, rename, r merge the individual cmpnents that cnflict. 11. After finishing the imprt, click Scribe Cnsle > Cnsle Refresh. Prepare Dynamics AX Yu must perfrm the fllwing steps t prepare Dynamics AX: 1. Imprt the ScribeTemplates.xp 2. Run the InitEvents jb 3. Cnfigure Scribe Executed Actins 4. Cnfigure relatins 5. Use the Item cmbinatins frm Imprting ScribeTemplates.xp ScribeTemplates.xp creates Dynamics AX queries and views the template requires. T Imprt The ScribeTemplates.xp 1. In Dynamics AX, click the Prject tlbar icn ( ). The Prjects frm appears. 2. Click the Imprt icn ( ). 3. Click the Brwse buttn and navigate t the ScribeTemplates.xp file. 4. In the Imprt sectin, select Only Applicatin Objects. 5. In the Optins sectin, d the fllwing: Select the Delete Table and Class Members ptin Clear the Imprt with ID values ptin. 6. Select OK. If yu receive a message stating an bject already exists, review the details f the xp t understand the changes being made. Then, click Yes r Yes t all t verwrite existing bjects. If yu click N r N t all, yu cannt use the template. 7. In the Shared flder, duble-click the ScribeTemplates prject t select it, then and press F7. The prject cmpiles. ScribePrimaryVendAddressView Links vendr and address infrmatin, including the primary address designatr. ScribePrimaryCustAddressView Links custmer and address infrmatin, including the primary address designatr. ScribeCmpanyCurrencyView Links cmpany and currency infrmatin. Tables ScribeInventDimMdule A custm table that cntains ne recrd fr each item, dimensin, currency, and price cmbinatin. SalesLine A custm field, ScribeInventDimCmbId has been added t this table t stre the dimensin cmbinatin used t create the item. SalesTable The fllwing custm fields, ScribeCrmSync and ScribeCrmKey, are added t this table: ScribeCrmSync Indicates if the rder was created frm Dynamics CRM. If s, its price shuld be recalculated and sent back. ScribeCrmKey Indicates if the rder already exists in Dynamics AX, t avid duplicates. ScribeSalesOrderAmunts A custm table that cntains the ttal price f the sales rders, which is nt stred in Dynamics AX by default. ScribeEventTable A custm table that cntains infrmatin n hw events in the standard Dynamics AX tables are handled. 18 Jb Frm InitEvents A custm jb that inserts recrds int the ScribeEventTable. These recrds are used fr executing Dynamics AX cde, based n the event type, such as insert, update, and delete. ScribeInventDimMdule A custm frm that displays the items with different dimensin cmbinatins stred in the ScribeInventDimMdule table. After imprting the ScribeTemplates.xp file, yu must: 1. Back up and delete the fllwing files frm yur Dynamics AX Applicatin flder n yur Dynamics AX Server, such as..\micrsft Dynamics AX \50\Applicatin\Appl\DynamicsAx1: axscren-us.ald axscren-us.alc axscren-us.ali 2. Cpy the axscren-us.ald label file frm the..\scribe\cllabratins\dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM\DcAndScripts flder n yur Insight Server t the Dynamics AX applicatin flder n yur Dynamics AX Server. 3. Restart the Micrsft Dynamics AX applicatin bject server (AOS) and Dynamics AX client. The axscren-us.alc and axscren-us.ali files are recreated and the Scribe navigatin pane menu is updated. Running The InitEvents Jb The InitEvents jb ppulates the ScribeEventTable. T Run The InitEvent Jb 1. Start Dynamics AX. 2. On the tlbar, click the AOT icn ( ). 3. Expand the Jbs nde. 19 4. Right-click InitEvent, and click Open. Cnfiguring Scribe Executed Actins After yu imprt the ScribeTemplates.xp file, yu must cnfirm the Scribe executed actins are enabled. T Cnfigure Scribe Executed Actins 1. Click Scribe > Scribe Executins. The Scribe Execute Actins windw appears. 2. Click Refresh t refresh the list f available execute actins. Refreshing this list can take several minutes. 3. 20 OrderPriceTaxExecute OrderPriceUpdateExecute Cnfiguring Relatins Relatins between tables are defined in the Dynamics AX Scribe relatin tables frm. This infrmatin is used t cnfigure Dynamics AX Publisher bjects and build custm queries with the Scribe Wrkbench. Imprt the list f predefined basic relatins using the Relatins.xml file in the..\scribe\cllabratins\dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM\Dcs and Scripts flder. Only imprt the Relatins.xml file after yu have imprted the ScribeTemplates.xp file. T Imprt The Relatins.xml File T Dynamics AX 1. In Dynamics AX, click Scribe > Table Relatin. 2. Click Imprt. 3. Specify the path t the Relatins.xml file, typically..scribe\cllabratins\dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM\DcAndScripts. 4. Select the Relatins.xml file and click Open. The imprt prcess starts. The imprted file cntains the fllwing table relatins used in the Dynamics AX t Dynamics CRM template. Dynamics AX T Dynamics CRM Template Versin:

21 Using The Item Cmbinatins Frm The Item Cmbinatins displays the items with different dimensin cmbinatins: The basic set f parameters is displayed fr every item. This includes name, dimensin, unit, price, currency, and s n. A separate recrd is created fr each currency supprted by Dynamics AX. A new recrd fr all currencies and dimensins is created fr each unit that has unit cnversins with an item sales unit. T display the Item Cmbinatins frm, in Dynamics CRM, click Scribe > Item Cmbinatins. The frm is empty until after the prduct initial sync cmpletes. It then displays infrmatin frm the fllwing fur tables: InventTable InventTableMdule InventDimCmbinatin UnitCnvert Versin: Dynamics AX T Dynamics CRM Template

22 When exchange rates are updated, the prices shuld be recalculated: T recalculate the price fr a single item, select the item and click the Recalculate buttn.
