For more information go to Primary purpose of the role Support the development, coordination, implementation and regular communication of a range of strategic business opportunities, focusing on the efficient and proactive management of NPWS programs, commercial partnerships and associated revenue generation activities to achieve sustainable visitation, maximisation of NPWS assets and venues, to enhance the overall visitor experience. Key accountabilities Support the development, coordination, implementation and regular communication of a range of strategic business opportunities, focussing on the efficient and proactive management of NPWS programs, commercial partnerships and associated revenue generation activities. Support the delivery, administration and regulation of commercial activities under the National Parks and Wildlife Act, including the Commercial Tour Operator licensing program, and other programs such as third party event consents, commercial filming and photography and fishing vehicle access licences. Support the implementation and maintenance of the Commercial Tour Operator database system and other key databases; and support the development, implementation and management of systems, processes, and associated policies and procedures, to improve the administrative efficiency and long-term viability of NPWS commercial programs and activities. Work effectively across NPWS to develop and deliver commercial approvals in a highly interdependent program environment; and develop and enhance effective working relationships and networks with key NPWS Park Operations staff to facilitate business opportunities and strengthen partnerships with Commercial Tour Operators, in particular 1

2 Act as the principal point of contact for all incoming applications, registration and correspondence in relation to NPWS commercial licences, including updates to the NPWS website information and management of the public register for approvals. Review licence conditions and prepare draft licences for signature by the delegated officer. Coordinate and administer the collection and banking of licence fees, including taking of payments, receipting and the follow up of outstanding payments in accordance with operating procedures. Manage a reminder system for the renewal of licences, the provision of insurance papers and other essential documentation required from operators. Assist in the development and implementation of risk management and governance systems to ensure the probity of the licensing assessment and approval process. Key challenges Maintaining effective working relationships with Commercial Tour Operators, internal and external stakeholders and key organisations, whilst facilitating compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and operating in a high-volume work environment with competing demands and tight deadlines. Managing the coordinated delivery of state-wide programs that are dependent on the timely inputs of geographically dispersed internal and external stakeholders. Assisting in ensuring the quality, integrity and accuracy of the licence assessment and approval process by developing and implementing a thorough and consistent approach across the state. 3 validity of marketing activity, content and outcomes. The role is directed by the Manager of the business area on more complex issues, project planning and all matters requiring a higher authority to determine and resolve. Reporting line The role reports to the Senior Business Development Officer Direct reports Nil Budget/Expenditure Nil Essential requirements Commercial acumen and extensive experience in the issue, administration and regulation of licences for commercial activities in environmentally sensitive locations. Demonstrated understanding of the workings of government and legislative policy frameworks with the capacity to interpret and apply legislation. Experience in developing, reviewing and implementing policies, procedures, guidelines and operational performance indicators.
