5 SPEAKERS IN DETAIL Keynote Speakers Matthew Lacome Head of Performance FRENCH RUGBY FEDERATION Richard Allen Head of Talent ID THE FA Aled Walters Head of Fitness MUNSTER RUGBY Embracing Innovation: Data, Design & Experiences The Role of Match Analysis in the Modern Coaching Staff Delivering Elite Performance: The Munster Way Mathieu Lacome is Head of Athlete Monitoring at the Performance Department of the French Rugby union. His role include monitoring training loads and fatigue in elite athletes as well as assessment in elite rugby union. He is currently researching in performance analysis and the link between training loads, fatigue and match Richard is responsible for leading The FA s Talent ID department, overseeing the recruitment process across all of the men and women s national sides and helping to develop and deliver the Association s Talent ID Education Programme. He joined The FA in November 2014 as Talent ID Manager before moving up to take his current position as Head of Talent ID in February Prior to joining the organisation Richard spent two years as Head of Academy at QPR and eight years as Head of Academy Recruitment at Tottenham From Carmarthenshire in Wales Aled joined Munster at the start of the 2012/13 season as Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach. Aleds qualifications include an MSc in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc from Loughborough University in Physical Education and Sport Science. Walters was the Strength and Conditioning Coach on the Emerging Ireland tour to Romania for the IRB Nations Cup in June 2014 and was promoted to Munster Rugby Head of Fitness at the start of the 2014/15 5
