I d nt have a smart phne but ld simple phne, Can I still use *99# Yes this service can be availed n any type f phne 4. Whether *99# service is available bth n GSM and CDMA handsets? The service wrks acrss all GSM service prviders and handsets. The service is currently nt available fr CDMA phnes. 5. Des the custmer need t register his/her mbile number t avail *99# service? Yes, Custmer shuld have mbile number with his/her bank system fr using *99# 6. Can I see/use *99# in my language Yes, *99# is currently available in Hindi & English (will be available in all majr 12 languages shrtly) yu can select a default language n the 1 st time registratin n *99#. Language can als be changed frm the ptin prvided in the menu screen. 7. What are the varius services available under *99#? 3 8. Are there any charges fr *99# service? Yes. TSPs charge the custmer fr using *99# service. Please cntact yur Telecm Service Prvider t knw the exact charges fr using *99# service. Hwever, TRAI (Telecm Regulatry Authrity f India) has set a maximum ceiling f Rs / transactin fr using the *99# service. 9. What are the timings fr initiating and receiving funds using *99# service? Fund transfer request can be initiated 24*7 (rund the clck) using the *99# service including n hlidays. Similarly, funds remitted using the *99# service can be received by the beneficiary 24*7 (rund the clck). 10. What kind f issues are faced by the custmer in using *99# service? While ding transactins n *99#, custmers may face fllwing issues: Handset Cmpatibility Issue: Thugh USSD based transactins wrks acrss all GSM handsets; hwever, wning t varius reasns, smetimes few handsets d nt supprt USSD service. Thugh, the numbers f such handset mdels is few; still users are requested t check if there handset supprts the USSD service (in case they are facing prblems while perfrming transactin). Technical Errr r Declined Request: Transactin nt getting cmpleted due t netwrk/cnnectivity issues at TSPs r Banks end. Wrng User Inputs: Transactin will get declined if the user enters wrng infrmatin like IFS Cde, Accunt number, MPIN etc. 11. Des a custmer need t register befre remitting funds using *99#? Yes, a custmer needs t create a UPI Pin by dialing *99# r using bank s UPI App r BHIM APP 12. Des the custmer need t register a beneficiary befre transferring funds thrugh *99#? What details f beneficiary will be required? N, registratin f Beneficiary is nt required fr transferring funds thrugh *99# as the fund wuld be transferred n the basis f Payment Address/ Accunt+ IFSC / Mbile N. Optin t save beneficiary after successful transactin is prvided t the user. 13. Des custmer need t have a bank accunt r this can be linked t a card r wallet? Custmer needs t have a bank accunt and a debit card, this facility is nt available n wallets 14. Can I use mre than ne UPI Mbile APPS and *99# n the same mbile if they are linked t different bank accunts? Yes, ne can use mre than ne UPI applicatin and *99# n the same mbile and link bth same as well as different accunts. 15. Des the beneficiary als have t register fr *99# fr receiving funds? In case f Payment Address transactin, the beneficiary needs t have a Payment Address which can be generated by registering n *99#, BHIM APP r frm any ther Bank UPI APP, but in case f Accunt + IFSC r Aadhaar number, the beneficiary need nt be registered fr *99#, BHIM APP r frm any ther Bank UPI APP. 16. 4 In case f mbile lss, ne needs t simply blck his mbile number thus n transactin can be initiated frm the same mbile number which is a part f device tracking and at the same time UPI Pin wuld be required fr any transactin which is nt t be shared with anyne. 17. Can I link mre than ne bank accunt t the same virtual address? Yes, Pst using *99# r BHIM a default virtual address MbileN@UPI will be generated. Which can be linked t the bank which is selected 18. What are the different services fr transferring funds using *99#? The different services ffered fr transferring funds using *99# are: Transfer thrugh Payment Address Accunt Number + IFSC Mbile Number Aadhaar Number 19. What if my accunt is debited but the transactin des nt g thrugh? *99# wrks n UPI which prvides real time reversals fr technical declines and amunt wuld be transferred back t the payer accunt immediately 20. Can I put a stp payment request fr funds transferred by *99#? N, nce the payment is initiated, it cannt be stpped. 21. Where d I register a cmplaint with reference t the *99# transactin? Yu can als raise yur grievance related t *99# n BHIM APP r n yur issuing bank. Yu can als check status f yur BHIM r *99# transactins n *99#. 22. What is the limit f fund transfer using *99#? At present, the upper limit n *99# is Rs per transactin. 23. If I change my bank n *99# will I be required t register again r I can carry the same virtual address? In case f change in bank n *99#, a persn needs t re-register fr the bank and the default VPA (MbileN@UPI) will be mapped t crrespnding accunt 24. What happens if I frget my pin? In case smene frgets the UPI Pin, he/she needs t re-generate new PIN frm *99# / BHIM / Bank s UPI APP. 25. Will I be able t use *99# after I change my Mbile N r Handset? In case f change in Mbile N. yu have t prvide yur new mbile number t yur bank t be linked with yur crrespnding accunt. In case f change in Handset yu will be still able t use *99# frm yur registered mbile n. 26. If a beneficiary has initiated a cllect request transactin, Payer will be sent an SMS ntifying him t dial *99# t accept / reject the requested mney. 28. In case my mbile is used by anther persn, will there be any security breach? In any transactin thrugh *99#, UPI Pin wuld be required which needs t be fed thrugh the mbile at the time f any transactin making it safe and secured. 29.
