3 1Introduction 1.1 General This document describes the GWG ad ticket version 1.3, a new version introducing new notions compared to version 1.2a. The intent of the ad ticket version 1 was to track the following information in an ad delivery context: - Who delivered an ad ( , phone, fax) - What publication will receive the ad (publication name, date, ) The intent of the ad ticket version 1.1 was to add corrections in the specification or in the format itself and add one new optional property: - The advertisement version The intent of the ad ticket version 1.2 was to add new tags required to automate more the ad delivery workflows. The version 1.2a was only a corrected versions compared to version 1.2. The new version 1.3 includes the following new items in the specification: - Some corrections for this specification to fit exactly the XMP terminology (Boolean must be True or False, String does not exist and have been replaced with type) - Definitions of the Section, targeted Audience and the Ad Position in publication, aimed at automating ad workflows, - Recommendations and new information for publication interoperability, - New information about the publisher country - Recommendations to help with the user experience with the definition of Suggested Field Names for some fields 1.2 IMPORTANT NOTES The AdsML tags used for Order ID and Job ID in the version 1 have been unfortunately exchanged in the custom panel and in the description. Please note that in the new versions GWG_v1.1_AD and GWG_v1.2_AD: - The Order ID is represented by the AdsML tag adsml-at:sellerplacementid - The Job ID is represented by the AdsML tag adsml-at:primarymaterialsid In order to use this new version, please adapt your workflows to the new description. We plan to replace the Theme tag (Ad Name or Caption) from adsmlat:product to adsml-at:ad in the next version 2. To prepare compatibility with future versions, we strongly recommend to include both fields in ticket using this version 1.3.

4 2Single ticket specification (ad delivery) The ad ticket is using XMP to store information in the document. The following sections are a list of XMP tags with their description and XMP properties. tags must be filled in with a meaningful non-empty value. This ticket relies on different existing XMP namespaces: - the main ones are based on AdsML, using the following namespace: often used with the prefix adsml-at - the GWG group has also defined a set for Ad Ticket with the namespace: used often with the prefix gwg-at - the IDEAlliance PRISM Ad initiative with the namespace using the prefix prism-ad 2.1 AdsML profile Profile 2.2 Job Information A string identifying the GWG AdsML profile name. The current profile name for ad delivery is GWG_v1.3_AD. adsml-at:profile This information is used to describe the job itself and the parties involved. This information is common to all insertions Job Identifier Job ID Production Job ID A unique reference identifier for the ad materials. This can be a number, ID, or even the file name of the ad. This identifier is used by the agency or production company to identify the ad. Supports publisher s ability to communicate with artwork provider in case of errors, and provides a unique materials ID for use in tracking and archiving scenarios. adsml-at:primarymaterialsid Job Contact Information Media Buyer Media Buyer Name Company name of the buyer of the advertising. adsml-at:buyername

6 2.2.3 Job Content Information Brand Product or Model A text field in which to specify one or more products or brands mentioned in the advertisement. adsml-at:advertisedproduct Theme Remarks Proofing Information HardProofSent (New in version 1.2) Ad Name or Caption The theme, creative campaign name, caption, or headline of the advertisement. Used to differentiate ads for the same product. Note: this field will be depreciated and replaced with adsml-at:ad in future versions. To prepare compatibility with future versions, please include both fields. adsml-at:product Comments Remarks, notes, comments, material instruction about the advertisement. adsml-at:remarks Hard Proof Sent Use this flag when an hard-copy proof was also sent with the file. gwg-at:hardproofsent Boolean 2.3 Publication Information Publication information is used to describe booking and publication details Insertion Identifier Order ID Pub Booking ID The publisher's unique reference number for the insertion. Supports publisher s matching of incoming artwork to its order. Please enter 000 if the pub booking ID is not known. adsml-at:sellerplacementid

7 2.3.2 Publication Information Publication Publication Name The title of the publication in which this ad will be published. Mandatory. Supports matching artwork to its booking when a Placement ID is not specified. Notes: In order to optimize the interoperability between systems, the publication name should be the one provided by the publisher in the media kit In case you need to add the city or the state as a way to differentiate the publications, they should be added into brackets, separated by coma and space characters, with the city ordered as a first item. For the state, you should use the abbreviated code usually used in the country rather than the full name. For instance, in the USA: The Examiner (Colombus, OH) adsml-at:publication Publication Date Version The date of the first appearance of these ad materials in the specified placement. Supports matching artwork to its booking when a Placement ID is not specified. adsml-at:firstpublication Date AD Market Version The regional version or market variation of the publication in which the ad appears. e.g., the region or the city of an advertisement in a magazine or a newspaper. gwg-at:partversion Publisher / Destination Publisher Name The company name of the publisher or company name that the ad should be sent to. gwg-at:destination

The value is recorded as an ISO 3166 two letter code. This is used to identify the publishing company and may be different to the country where the publication is distributed. adsml-at:publishercountry Replacement Material Use this flag to indicate that this advertisement should replace a previously delivered file. adsml-at:change Boolean Publication Section Name of the publication section in which the resource is categorized. A section is a logical subdivision of a publication, which helps to identify the general subject domain of the contained content. adsml-at:section Movies, Food, Life, Sports, Gardening, Classified, Display of the demographic edition of a magazine or section of a publication for which the advertisement was booked. prism-ad:targetedaudience Female under 50, Male over 40, GenX, Boomer, The position in the magazine in which the advertisement has been placed. Values include IFC (inside front cover), IBC (inside back cover ), OBC (outside back cover) and MB (main body) prism-ad:adposition Choice IFC, IBC, OBC, MB IBC

9 2.3.3 Color Information Color Color Size Information Print Fixed Area Print Width Print Width Unit of Measurement Print Height Indicates the type of color to be used in the ad. Must be BW for black and white, Color for full color or Spot for spot color. Note: In the next version of the ad ticket, the acceptable values will change to FullColor, Black, and BlackSpot to maintain compatibility with AdsML. To maintain future compatibility, publisher systems should be developed to accept these values. adsml-at:color Choice Spot Color If spot color is used, describes the type of spot color. This must be a comma-separated list of the colorants to be used in the ad. Process colorants should also be included if used. In the case a spot color would have a comma in the name, add the \ character in front of the comma and use \\ for \ character. only for Spot color adsml-at:color Named Ad Size A generalized intended print area for the ad such as full page. The preferred values for this tag is listed in Appendix I. adsml-at:printfixedarea Ad Width The intended printed width value of the ad. adsml-at:printwidthvalue Real Ad Width UOM The intended unit of measure for the printed width of the ad. Values can be inches, mm or columns. adsml-at:printwidthunit Ad Height Indicates the intended printed height of the ad.
