2 Who we are Their job is to look after Israel. Ours is to look after them. Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) was established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors to provide for the wellbeing of the men and women who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as well as the families of fallen soldiers. Headquartered in New York City, FIDF is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation that operates 14 regional offices in the United States and one office in Latin America. The strength of the IDF, which has been guarding the State of Israel since it declared independence in 1948, derives from the selfless determination and great capabilities of the young men and women who form it. At the tender age of 18, all Israelis are drafted into the IDF. Those who serve commit to uphold the difficult tasks of defending Israel s borders and guaranteeing the safety of its people. The Israeli government is responsible for training IDF soldiers and providing them with the necessary tools for their service. FIDF is committed to providing these soldiers with love, support, and care in an effort to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.

3 The FIDF initiates and helps support educational, social, cultural and recreational programs and facilities for the young men and women soldiers of Israel who defend the Jewish homeland. The FIDF also provides support for the families of fallen soldiers.

4 The objective of Guys Night Out 2012 is to raise money for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) while creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for all guests. In April 2011, the FIDF San Diego Chapter held it s first Guys Night Out (GNO), a concept created by our Michigan Chapter. The event was held in memory of Mr. David Feder. David, the father of Co-Chair Dan Feder, proudly served in an IDF Paratrooper Unit. In 1993, he was tragically killed in an automobile accident at the age of 47. The event was so successful that it was decided that GNO would be an annual event. This year s event will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 6:00pm at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel. This is going to be an incredible evening with premium liquor bar, strolling dinner, guest raffle drawings and a Texas Hold em cash prize tournament. Event proceeds will benefit the brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces who protect the State of Israel and Jews all over the world. The Guys Night Out event appeals to Metro San Diego s socially active heavy hitters who are at the heart of charitable fundraising and activism in this demographic. This fun, unique event concept will draw attendees and local publicity, putting the FIDF in the spotlight and showing the organization s enthusiastic energy and willingness to think outside the classic non-profit box. Sponsors will benefit from the incredible, niche market exposure that this event will garner. The Jewish Market, ages 25-75, is both financially and socially affluent, creating an intense buzz in a market that strongly supports the brands that are viewed. Admission to the event is $250 with Poker Buy-In ($180 admission only); admission for those 30 and Under is $170 with Poker Buy-In ($100 admission only).

5 THE BATTALION. We know they are there, and we know of their sacrifices, but don't always know the best way to show we care. Adopting a Battalion is the right way! You can support one of more than 130 combat battalions of the IDF that operate daily, protecting Israel's borders. Since statehood, and especially during the last decade, IDF combat soldiers have been under tremendous stress. Battalion commanders annually designate the use of donated funds to various wellbeing activities most needed by the battalion.
