1 Advertisement Applications are invited form researchers, young scientists and junior faculties for 5 days workshop and Hands-on training course on Molecular Techniques in Cell Signaling and Bio-Medical Nanotechnology from to at Thrombosis and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory,, Institute of Medical Sciences,,. Candidates will be provided hands-on training on effect of nanomaterials on cell signaling- Metallic nanoparticle synthesis and their characterization, nanoparticle - protein bioconjugate formation, measurements of intacellular calcium and ROS by fluorescence spectroscopy, mitochondrial membrane potential measurement by flowcytometry, sample preparation of nano-biomaterials for electron microscopic analysis, isoelectric focusing and 2-D electrophoresis of signaling proteins, Western blotting and immunoprecipitation, and other signaling procedures including live imaging of effect of nanomaterials on animal model by Intravital fluorescence microscopy. Details program of the workshop can be found in attached brochure. Fifteen candidates will be selected on the basis of their academics.

2 How to apply Thrombosis and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory Applicants should preferably be below 40 years of age. Applicants are required to furnish their CV, one page write-up on their major field of work, funding position and how this workshop would benefit them. Applications comprising cover letter, CV and write-up should arrive at the following address on or before 15 th October, Prof. Debabrata Dash, Convener, Thrombosis and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory Only selected candidates would require to pay registration fee of Rs 3000 /- which includes course fee, registration kit, breakfast, and lunch. Accommodation within BHU campus would be provided to limited number of candidates on payment of Rs 500 in advance along with registration fee.

4 OVERVIEW Thrombosis and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory Advances in cell signaling and bio-medical nanotechnology have emerged as potential tools to cater the unmet biomedical goals. Different molecular techniques like Western blotting, Flow cytometry, Fluorescence microscopy, Spectroscopy, Electron microscopy, nanoparticle synthesis, characterization of nanomaterials, bioconjugate formation involving nanomaterials etc are integral part of signaling and nanobiotechnological research. Therefore, taking in view the significance of molecular techniques, we are pleased to organize workshop and hands-on training course on Molecular Techniques in Cell Signaling and Bio-medical Nanotechnology from January 27-31, The course will comprise of comprehensive lectures describing basics and practical applications of important techniques followed by practical demonstration and hands-on training by experts in the field. Applications are invited form researchers, young scientists and junior faculties for the above course.
