13 [ TPO March ECC In early 2011, We received a Continuous Quality Check Technical Performance Optimization (TPO) to improve performance of our ECC 5.0 system during our month end processing. The report identified a number of transactions and database/system settings contributing to the total workload during this timeframe. Implemented recommendations from the TPO report, as well as configuration changes to our IO subsystems we saw an overall improvement of Avg. Dialog response time around 16.5%, as well as a 35.7% decrease in the Avg. Db request time for Dialog WP.

14 [ TPO April GTS Transaction degradation was the focus and reasons behind the Technical Performance Optimization performed in our GTS environment. Each new order entered in our ECC SAP instance performs an entity validation to the GTS SAP environment. The TPO, Technical Performance Optimization, report presented several findings that were implemented on the Oracle database, however the correction to the problem was to change the match percentage in the GTS configuration related to Sanctioned Party List (within the compliance section of GTS). 14

15 [ TPO/BPPO May BI In May 2011 Users were experiencing very high response time for generation of reports in our BI environment. We established a BPPO (Business Process Performance Optimization) and received a TPO that report pointed out all the queries which were not tuned properly. OLAP cache modes were corrected as per the recommendations of TPO report and also most of the indexes which were degenerated were rebuilt. All the recommendations for the info cubes were implemented. The buffer setting were optimized as per the report and Db parameters were tuned. Expensive SQL statements were identified and corrected as per the recommendation of TPO. This highly improved the response times for the queries of the end users.

16 [ TPO August Vendavo (Solution Extension) In July/August 2011 we were having performance issues in our Vendavo environment, general sluggishness, unhappy customers. We engaged for a CQC on the environment which identified, issues with Oracle parameters, default pool sizes, SGA size and CPU constraint. Using this information to make adjustments we were able to move the database to a better performing server, and increase the SGA and other parameters.

17 [ TPO/Go Live October SCM In October 2011 we completed a Go live for our SCM/DP implementation. To ensure our system was tuned to handle the load, that we would not impact the current TPVS functional performance, we performed a CQC for Implementation as well as a TPO for performance optimization. The report gave us very valuable suggestions and pointed out the priority tasks that were critical and needed to be corrected before go live. We tuned the system as per the recommendations of the Go live report. Live Cache parameters Memory management parameters Many database index rebuilds Many table reorganizations DB parameter changes that were specific and critical for our implementation. The recommendation provided for the data load parameter setting were highly helpful and resolved many of the data load issues the functional teams were having.

18 [ Summary As a result of the efforts we are able to maintain our operation utilizing SAP Enterprise Support as a key player. Through this inclusion we reduce our overall operational cost. We have combined SAP Enterprise Support into our operations model and use them to augment staff to perform these functions therefore reducing the time and effort away from our Basis, DBA and Compute functions. All of these activities occurred with limited resource impact by Basis and DBA s who continued to do their day to day work. Each activity clearly identified key areas to investigate and provided a catalyst to solve customer issues in the environment. In some cases identified and in others not, but feedback from our customers has been positive. We have had a positive result with a minimum effort!
