We try and maintain good relationships with the people running the business on the subcontractor side, most of which have been forged over quite a few years. Another benefit of sustainable relationships is the fact that the subcontractors can often be a useful source of information in relation to new products and processes. APM Group seeks input from its subcontractors whenever appropriate. Occasionally, because of the ongoing relationship between both companies, a subcontractor is able to offer advice on a new product, method or technique that might enhance a certain aspect of a project. This advice is always carefully considered, as subcontractors are the experts in each of their particular fields. Obviously, a partnership sees equal benefits for both companies, and Rod is confident that APM Group treats subcontractors well. We like to be fair when it comes to the people we bring on board. We have an excellent reputation for honest and open dealings with our subcontractors, who are always paid within the times stipulated in their respective contracts. What people have to understand is that when you treat others fairly, then you generate higher levels of trust and commitment, which in turn can lead to a very profitable relationship for both businesses.
