1 POSITION DESCRIPTION SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ANAYLST Position Title: Senior Reports To: Infrastructure Team Leader Location: Kew Campus

3 Purpose of Role The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team aims to ensure that technology is used as an effective and efficient tool that enhances the teaching and learning opportunities and communication abilities of students, staff and parents. Carey is a School where learning is rich in technology and to this end, the School aims to grasp the benefits offered by technology in all educational, organisational and operational aspects of day-to-day activities The Senior will: In conjunction with the Infrastructure Team Leader, support and continue to develop an infrastructure environment that will reliably and efficiently support the Carey Learning and Business applications services Accountable for Carey s integration services to ensure accurate, secure and efficient information flow between Carey s key applications Responsibility for ensuring the on-going security and availability of the Carey network infrastructure environment (network, applications and services) Duties & Responsibilities Work within the ICT Team to provide effective management of the Carey infrastructure environment, supporting desktop (Mac & Windows) and distributed application environment to obtain maximum availability, security, performance, development and timely resolution of problems across the network. Development and maintenance of Carey s data information flow between key applications. Support the management and security of the Schools physical and wireless network. Develop, update and maintain existing documentation to ensure infrastructure processes and procedures are documented providing effective management Participate in the development & planning to continue the improvement and maintenance of the network monitoring, alerting and capacity system for the infrastructure environment. Provide enhancements/maintenance to DRP strategy Provide a pro-active customer service approach in keeping the business updated in regard to incident resolution progress Liaise with external stakeholders to manage existing and future infrastructure services including but not limited to Carey s external Firewall and Managed Service providers Assist the Team Leader Infrastructure in all phases of projects as required

4 Manage and undertake process improvement/enhancement initiatives applying the principles of the Carey Project Methodology Contribute to the development and building of team harmony and ownership for the Infrastructure Team as well as the greater ICT Team to create a sense of empowerment and responsibility within the team Skills & Knowledge Essential Extensive demonstrable hands-on experience developing scripts to facilitate integration and flow of data between systems in Powershell, VB/.Net and C. Minimum 5 years systems experience with in-depth technical skills and credibility in Operating Systems Administration, and an appreciation of other areas (such as Storage, Virtualisation, Networking, Database, etc) Extensive knowledge/experience in Active Directory including certificate authority management Experience in HP network comms (both routing, switch, WIFI) and security technology protocols and standards Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience Self-motivated and proactive in exploring alternative/smarter ways and methods for problem resolution and system installs and upgrades Solid experience in working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment The ability to build rapport with customers to promote understanding of customer needs to actively seek information about the situation and challenges of other departments and external customers to improve the quality and timeliness of service delivery Good oral and written and communication skills with proven ability to produce advanced documentation, planning in an organised fashion Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills with an attention to detail and accuracy Desirable Knowledge of various application (HPe Air Wave, Clearpass, mobility manager, SAN Technology, VMWare VSphere and VEEAM) Experience in project and contractual management Previous experience with integrating Apple Network into Windows environment Special Requirements Carey Baptist Grammar School employees are required to hold and maintain a valid Working With Children Check. Current Victoria Drivers Licence
