2 Position Purpose Reporting to the Recycling Services Manager, your role will be to apply your skills and experience to effectively oversee the production needs of the division. In this role you are responsible for the supervision of work flow to ensure production demands are met. This is a hands-on position and you are required to maintain and document all requirements relating to production. Integral to the production expectations of the site, you will liaise with customers and suppliers as required whilst maintaining quality standards and ensuring customer expectation. You will use your supervisory skills and experience to oversee work of a complex nature where trade skills or equivalent may be required. You will be responsible for ensuring plant & equipment maintenance schedules are developed and maintained as well maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements. With supervision of production at its core, the role is more than that. You will need to be able to do hands on work in factory environments, motivate & empower other staff and supported employees to achieve, effectively interact and communicate with a variety of stakeholders and have the ability to ensure the administrative requirements of the role (such a paper work and filing) is completed correctly. From time to time you will need to develop and apply innovate methods to assist Supported Employees to achieve vocational goals and meet workplace expectations. When not undertaking tasks directly relating to your role, you are expected to carry out any other task or activity assigned to you by your manager that is within the reasonable expectation of the Grade for this role and/or any lower Grade. The Selection Criteria Eligible to immediately work in Australia without sponsorship; Tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience in a field that reflects mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain machinery and equipment as well as apply quality assurance practices; experience working with plant & equipment in a factory environment; Demonstrated ability to organise, motivate and train employees; Demonstrated ability to strategically schedule work flow to ensure production demands are met; Senior First Aid Certificate (or the capacity & willingness to obtain the qualification), and the capacity & willingness to act as a workplace first aid officer where requested and in receipt of the relevant Flagstaff allowance; Demonstrated sound level of computer skills particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (specifically Word, Excel & Outlook); Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining positive working relationships; Unsigned hard copies of this document cannot be referred to or relied upon for current content or accuracy. 3 Demonstrated ability to be proactive and make decisions that will benefit the business; Ability to teach task requirements and/or workplace processes to others; Proven high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills; Demonstrated ability to operate independently, effectively and professionally with limited supervision; Demonstrated strong planning, time management and prioritising skills; NSW WorkCover Forklift Operators Licence (desirable); NSW WorkCover Crane Operators Licence (desirable); NSW WorkCover Confined Space Entry (desirable); Current NSW Driver s Licence (MR class or higher highly regarded) Performance Accountabilities & Requirements To be successful in a role with Flagstaff, at a minimum you will need to meet the accountabilities and requirements of your job description; meeting the following accountabilities and requirements will be the primary measure of your performance. Present as a role model for Flagstaff s core values, its culture of teamwork, helping others, maintaining a positive can do attitude and performing to the best of your ability for the good of the team and our customers; Undertake Flagstaff provided training on the National Standards for Disability Services and ensure that your actions consistently comply with those standards; Consistently exceed customer expectations for service and production of quality items Proactively obtain confirmation from your Manager on daily production needs and expectations ensuring you have clear and measurable production targets. Allocate, direct and supervise employees and production materials to ensure efficiencies and eliminate down time. Set up and operate and/or supervise the operation of all equipment Supervise & coordinate daily production output. Set production goals and priorities with staff and supported employees and take corrective action where needed to achieve maximum resource utilisation. Understand and apply quality control principles. Immediately report any changes in materials or deviations from production methods or specifications that will potentially or actually affect the customer expectation of finished products. Maintain and document all requirements relating to production, quality assessment, and dispatch as required by the customer. Ensure customers quality control needs are met through full examination of customer specifications and finished products. 4 Develop & maintain maintenance schedules and carry out scheduled maintenance Maintain production and maintenance records ensuring a high level of record keeping and accuracy. Schedule and supervise all customer jobs including documentation and processing of relevant paperwork. Advise your Manager on current lead times and any problems which may impact on customer service. Ensure effective communication with customers and suppliers. Conduct Toolbox Meetings as required and participate in any other workplace consultative meetings. Maintain production and maintenance records ensuring a high level of record keeping and accuracy. Performance Accountabilities & Requirements (cont d) Effectively work alongside other staff & supported employees and set a hands-on example by consistently ensuring your actions and activities are consistent with Flagstaff s core values; Ensure you do not generate or participate in any formal or informal discussion with any supported employee where the nature of the discussion does, or has potential to generate any level of uncertainty, negativity or anxiety about any person s employment or the Flagstaff Group s abilities and/or operations in general; Ensure you do not generate or participate in any formal or informal discussion with any direct or indirect Flagstaff customer or client, where the nature of the discussion does, or has potential to, generate any level of uncertainty, negativity or anxiety about any Flagstaff employee or the Flagstaff Group s abilities, policies, procedures and/or operations in general; Comply with all Flagstaff policies, procedures, guidelines and processes. Individual Employee Work Health & Safety Responsibilities Maintain safe work conditions and use safe work practices at all times; Follow all safety regulations and precautions; Assist in the implementation of Flagstaff s WHS policy; Comply with safety directions; Attend training courses as required; Correctly wear any required PPE at all times; Immediately report all incidents, accidents, defective equipment, actual & potential hazards and unsafe work practices. Identify workplace risks and hazards and report same using correct procedure and documentation. Ensure compliance with the Flagstaff Work Health & Safety Injury Management Systems. Consult with management and other employees on safety related issues Remuneration & Performance Expectation This is a Graded position classified in Schedule A of the Flagstaff Group Ltd Certified Agreement 2004, and in addition to any Performance Accountabilities & Requirements identified in this document, you will be required to be willing to undertake any task that could be reasonably expected within the classifications of this Grade and any lower Grades within the limits of your skills (i.e. training, qualifications, experience and expertise) regardless of whether those skills were obtained working at Flagstaff or otherwise. You should ensure you are provided with a copy of Schedule A of the Flagstaff Group Ltd Certified Agreement 2004 before accepting this role and/or signing this document.
