6 PTTEP Hydrological Consultancy Services PTTEP holds petroleum concession Block S1 at Lan Krabu, Kampaenphet Province. Consequences of oil exploration are contamination of chloride in groundwater. PTTEP has drilled 377 boreholes to observe chloride plume movement in order to delineate and implement remediation measures. The study started with a review of existing field information followed by the field monitoring. The field monitoring parameters comprise water level and EC profile measurements that were used for calculation of chloride plume mass and area.
