3 Getting Involved Offer insights on scope of projects Participate in the process of developing specifications for materials Provide quality control oversight during project Constantly monitor any unforeseen issues that may arise, help develop a solution Ensure project is completed

5 Scope and Design of Project/ Renovations Determine extent of renovation projects Identify issues that you are trying to address Poor drainage Grade issues Changing, or re-establishing turgrass Key to identifying issues is going to be testing Many different testing methods Take the time to do extensive testing to ensure a successful project
6 Key to Testing Prescription, without diagnosis, is malpractice. Types of testing Diagnostic Quality control
7 Types of Testing Diagnostic- Used to determine the cause of the issues Utilize laser and transit to check grades Cone laser Dual Plane laser Perform soil tests to identify rootzone issues Particle size analysis Identify amount of sand, silt, clay, and organic material Undisturbed soil test Identify layers that negatively impact drainage
8 Types of Testing Quality control- Used to ensure that plans and specifications are being followed Soil testing of all materials Require Suppliers to provide test results Test materials as they arrive onsite Measuring depth of materials Make sure that plans and specifications are being followed
9 Scope and Design of Project/ New Construction Provide guidance on design for new projects Input on type of surface required Synthetic, natural grass Help determine specifications for materials Root-zone, irrigation, infield material Take into account maintenance considerations Location and number of quick couplers, access points to field, lines on synthetic turf
