4 ADDENDUM NO. 1, REVISED 2/10/17, PAGE 25 Fulton County Schools seeks a qualified Contractor(s) to provide baseball & softball renovations for Creekside and Langston Hughes High Schools. The new Contractor(s) shall remove existing grass from all areas of the field inside the fence, remove irrigation heads, till soil, remove rock, stones or other debris, laser grade sub-surface for proper drainage, reinstall irrigation heads, rebuild infield, refresh warning tracks and install new sod. Additional irrigation heads may be required in some areas for proper coverage. SPECIFICATIONS I. Guarantee a. The contractor shall guarantee all sod to grow to a height of one inch and replace sod at no cost to Owner within a period of 60 days after the initial installation and prior to final acceptance by the Owner. b. The contractor shall guarantee all sod grasses to be actively growing and/or taking root within 60 days after the installation. II. Materials a. Any additional soil needed shall be approved by owner prior to the soil being applied to subsurface. b. Commercial fertilizer shall be c. Lime shall be agricultural ground or pelletized limestone, Lime-Rite or equivalent. d. Sod shall be delivered to the site within 18 hours after stripping, and shall be a healthy green color and free of diseases, fungus, insects, insect eggs or nematodes. Sod shall be free of noxious weeds and weed seeds. A written invoice from the sod farm shall be provided showing proof of the variety and correct date and time of stripping. Sod shall have a rooted soil layer of three-eighths to one-half inches minimum and be Blue Tag Certified. Pieces of sod with less than the minimum soil attached will not be accepted. Sod which has been over seeded with perennial grasses is not acceptable under any circumstances. III. Preparation of site a. Remove the existing irrigation systems sprinkler heads after confirming proper operation with owner s rep. b. Using a sod harvester or tiller, remove all existing grasses inside the fence area. c. Dispose of spoils shall be the responsibility of the contractor. d. Till the area to a depth of at least six inches by plowing, disking, harrowing, or other approved methods until the condition of the soil is acceptable. Add sand as needed to improve drainage. Review plan with owner representative and agree on amount to be added. e. Application of fertilizer at a rate of 1200 pounds per acre and lime at a rate of 2000 pounds per acre (or as specified by soils report) shall be incorporated into the soil at a depth of six inches. f. Infield shall be rebuilt using approved infield mix. Infield mix should be 20% Turface and be 4 deep. g.
