2 Page 2 of SCOPE This specification along with the equipment data sheets, other job specifications, EIL standard specification Rev.3 and applicable API Standards describes the minimum requirements for design, manufacture, testing, supply, supervision of erection and commissioning of Screw Pumps as described hereunder and in other referred documents 1) Pump Item No. 041-P-4101 A/B (Feed Pump) 2) Pump Item No. 041-P-4103 A/B (Asphalt Pump) In case of any conflict between this job specification and other enquiry documents, the following preferential order shall govern: i) Data Sheets ii) This Job Specification/Other Job Specifications. iii) P&ID S iv) EIL standard specification Rev.3. v) Other EIL Standard specifications as per the "List of Attachments" provided with this enquiry document vi) Other Indian/International Standards attached herewith or referred to. However any such conflict shall be highlighted by the bidder in his offer and Purchaser s decision shall be final in this regard. 2.0 UNITISATION OF PUMP & DRIVER Unitization of Pump & Driver shall be done in pump manufacturer's shop. All pumps and their Drivers shall be supplied as skid mounted units with all accessories, auxiliaries along with auxiliary piping duly mounted on a single skid. 3.0 SITE & UTILITY DATA Specification for Site and Utility Data attached in the Enquiry Document shall be referred. 4.0 EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION CRITERIA 4.1 Refer to Cl. No. 17 (17.1 to 17.4) of Standard Specification BASIC DESIGN: 5.1 Pumps shall be designed to meet the operating condition as stipulated in the equipment data sheet. 5.2 Maximum allowable working pressure & temperature of the equipment shall not be less than the design pressure & temperature specified in the data sheet nor less than those specified in specifications, codes & standards. 5.3 Couplings shall be all metallic, non-lubricated flexible element type (i.e. either diaphragm coupling or disc coupling) with spacer for all equipment.coupling guards shall be perforated & of non-sparking material. All couplings shall be selected for a minimum service factor of 1.5. (As per HPCL requirements coupling will only be of M/s Rathi Make) 5.4 All Screw pumps, included in the enquiry, shall be Ring Oil Lubricated. Pumps to have flushing oil connections also.

3 Page 3 of All auxiliary piping interface connections shall be terminated with flanged valve at the equipment battery limit. 5.6 As a minimum piping material shall be stainless steel for all seal flushing plans. 5.7 Thermal relief valves shall be provided for components that may be blocked in by isolation valves including any cooling water return circuit piping of a cooler or a jacket. Cooling water return piping will have globe valve for flow control and flow gauge for flow direction. 5.8 The purchaser will provide/receive water at single point inlet/outlet at the edge of base-plate of each pump for seal cooler and/or bearing cooling. The terminating flanges at the skid edge shall be of 3/4"(min.) size. Vendor shall provide sight flow glass at each CW outlet. 5.9 Equipment Noise Level Equipment noise level (Driver + Driven equipment train + auxiliaries) shall not exceed 85 dba when measured at One-meter distance from the equipment skid in any direction Against the specified API material class of pump material, vendor to furnish the ASTM grade of material of each component of the pump. For KCS material the PWHT requirements to be checked for stress reliving and hardness to be restricted to HBN Pump Item No. 41-P-4101 A/B (Feed Pump) Pump shall be selected for Operating Conditions as given in Licensor s (M/s KBR) pump data sheet by considering viscosity of Deg C, differential pressure of 44.1Kg / cm2 and rated flow of M3/Hr, However, pump shall also be suitable to develop differential pressure of 44.1 Kg / cm2 with viscosity Deg C and viscosity of Deg C as defined under Extream Operating Condition and Note-5 respectively. Pump vendor to furnish the capacity of the pump at these operating conditions. Refer to below table for clarity: Sr. No. PT. Refer to KBR process data sheet (Doc No. 468-LS-P4101) as attached elsewhere with MR to reconfirm and verify the operating cases Pump Item No. 41-P-4103 A/B (Asphalt Pump): Pump shall be selected for Operating Conditions as given in Licensor s (M/s KBR) pump data sheet under Lube Oil Bright Stock Case (Higher Flow Case) by considering viscosity of Deg C, differential pressure of 15.8Kg / cm2 and rated flow of M3/Hr, However, pump shall also be suitable to develop differential pressure of 15.8 Kg / cm2 with viscosity of Deg C under Extreme Operating Condition of Lube Bright Stock

4 Page 4 of 6 Case and viscosity of Deg C and viscosity of Deg C of FCC Case as defined under Operating Conditions & Extreme Operating Condition respectively. Refer to KBR process data sheet (Doc No. 468-LS-P4103) as attached elsewhere with MR to reconfirm and verify the operating cases. 6.0 MECHANICAL SEALS 6.1 All Pumps shall be provided with mechanical seals. The type of mechanical seal & seal plans shall be as defined in the respective pump datasheets. The seal flush plan shall be as per API 682 requirements & also as per the attached specification requirements. The pump manufacturer shall also obtain seal manufacturer recommendations regarding the above & furnish the same along with his proposal. 6.2 Mechanical seals(as per API Std. 682) shall be one of the following makes: Principals Indian Counterparts M/s John Crane John Crane Engg. Sealing System India Pvt. Ltd. M/s Flowserve Flowserve Sanmar Ltd. M/s Eagle Burgmann Eagle Burgmann India Pvt Ltd. 6.3 For standard mechanical seals, Seal Qualification tests (SQT) shall have been conducted on the proposed mechanical seal model(s). Related certificates shall be obtained during detailed engineering stage. Refer Sealing Plan 32 & 62 as applicable and special requirements for seal flushing Plans attached elsewhere. The complete sealing system along with instruments and all accessories shall be mounted / installed on the pump base plate and there shall be independent units, i.e one each for each stuffing box and system shall be mounted in such a way to allow for maintenance of the pump. For seal plan 32 and 62 where external flush is required, purchaser will provide external fluid connections pump skid edge at available B/L conditions of purchasers. Any further requirement like reduction / increment in flow, and pressure is to be done by pump manufacturer and for this purpose any instrument as required shall be in pump manufacturer s scope. For high temperature service i.e. above 200 Deg C, the mechanical seal will have metallic bellow of alloy 716 (INCONEL).

5 Page 5 of 6 Each seal will have its independent seal plan. 6.5 Instrumentation For Mechanical Seal System: Instrumentation associated with Mechanical Seal flushing plans 32 & 62 shall be as per Instrumentation Specifications/data sheets forming part of the Enquiry Document. (Refer instrumentation Job Specification No A SP-5050) The pump manufacturer shall supply necessary instruments from any one of the EIL approved makes only The vendor s scope of supply and scheme for various seal plans shall be as under Seal plan 32 and 62: Sketch entitled seal flush plan are attached with Bid Documents 7.0 SPARE PARTS 7.1 Mandatory Mandatory Spares as specified in the mandatory spare part list (Doc No. A SL- 5050), attached elsewhere in the enquiry document, shall be included in the vendor s scope of supply. Pump vendor shall furnish a categorical confirmation for the same in his proposal by furnishing a filled in mandatory spare parts list for each item included in enquiry document. Cost of these spares shall be added to the base price of the pump set for bid comparison. For Electrical mandatory spares refer to electrical specification.(doc. No. A SP- 5050) For Instrumentation mandatory spares parts refer to instrumentation specification.( Doc. No. A SP-5050) 7.2 Spares For 2 Years Normal Operation Vendor shall furnish along with the bid a quotation for minimum recommended spares for 2 years normal operation along with unit rates for each of the pump item. These spares shall be as per vendor s recommendation over and above the Mandatory spare parts and may be ordered separately at owner s discretion. Vendor to note that if spares given under mandatory spares (clause 7.1 above) are good enough and sufficient for two year normal operation also then these two year normal operation spares need not to be considered. For Electrical two year spares refer to electrical specification (Doc. No. A SP- 5050). 7.3 Erection and Commissioning Spares Vendor shall include in his scope of supply for each pump item, spares required for erection and commissioning of the pump-motor units. List for the same (separately for each pump) shall be furnished by the vendor along with the bid. The price of these spares are to be included in the base price of the pump set. If however, any additional spare is consumed during erection and commissioning, over and above the quoted erection and commissioning spares, the same shall be provided free of cost by the vendor.

6 Page 6 of Special Tools And Tackles Any special tools and tackles required for maintenance etc. of pump shall be included in the vendor s scope of supply for each pump. Vendor shall categorically confirm for each pump, whether the special tools or tackles are required or not. The price of these spares are to be included in the base price of the pump set. 8.0 VENDOR DATA AND DRAWING Vendor data and drawings shall be furnished in accordance with the Vendor Data Requirements Screw Pumps forming part of the enquiry document. 9.0 EQUIPMENT STORAGE All pumps shall be packed for an outside storage period of 6 months. 10. INSTALLATION CRITERIA All pumps shall be suitable for outdoor installation. No equipment shelter is envisaged. 11. SAFETY: 11.1 Equipment design and engineering shall incorporate adequate safety measures (As per respective specifications and of respective equipment as well as environment codes (if any) and standard applicable for subject project to provide protection to equipment and environment Thermal relief valve shall be provided for components that may be blocked in by the isolation valves (including any cooling water return circuit piping of a cooler or jacket) 11.3 All electrical components & installations shall be suitable for electrical area classification and grouping in which the equipment is installed. 12 MAINTENANCE SPACE 12.1 Special care should be taken for pumps provided with seal plans 32, 52 so that couplings & seals can be attended to for maintenance without disturbing any seal piping / cables / other items located on the skid (i.e. complete edge of the pump skid should be without any auxiliary piping / fittings).it is preferred that the complete edge on which the motor terminal box is located is left open for ease of maintenance. 13. SUPERVISION DURING ERECTION AND COMMISSIONING: Vendor to provide supervision of erection and commissioning of pump unit for which he will be deploying his representatives as per quoted per diem rate basis. (Bidder to consider 10 working day on 12 hour working basis per person for each Pump item. Maximum number of visit required to be made will be three).
