MRI s stadard flocculatio module cosists of three horizotal paddle wheels mouted o a sigle logitudial shaft. The paddle wheel flocculator provides tapered flocculatio, which ca be adjusted by a variable speed drive. Flow is received from the chemical feed/rapid mix module, which provides specific eergy iput ad detetio time to allow growth of flocculat particles. The variable speed motor ca be computer cotrolled by the overall process cotrol system. The scaled versio utilizes the same parameters such as specific overflow rate as the full-size versio. As the particulates are removed from the flow stream ad evetually settle to the bottom of the tak, a scale module of the MRI Hoseless Cable-Vac removes the sludge, which ca also be computer cotrolled. The sedimetatio module prepares the flow for filtratio; however, the turbidity after sedimetatio may also be of iterest. The module is accurate eough that it ca be used to augmet or eve elimiate jar testig for full-scale sedimetatio. Membrae Filter Module replicates full-sized system. MRI s stadard membrae filter module is based o a scaled versio of MRI s full-size flexible sheet membrae ultra-filter used i both water ad wastewater treatmet applicatios. The module icludes the ability to clea membraes usig backflush, air scour, ad chemical cleaig. The membrae flux ca be varied ad like the other modules, ca be computer automated ad computer moitored.
