3 Itroductio Importat Istructios KENT proudly presets KENT MAXX - the ew advaced fully automatic UV purifier with storage tak. The iovative KENT MAXX, developed at KENT laboratory, provides the double purificatio of UV+UF. While the iitial purificatio by UV deactivates bacteria ad viruses, the double purificatio by fie pores of Hollow Fibre UF membrae reduces them from the purified water. The Activated Carbo pre-filter reduces bad taste ad odour, so that the water you drik is healthy, safe ad tasty. Avoid exposure to direct sulight ad istallatio i damp areas. Make sure that the purifier is coected to ormal temperature water supply oly. 4 UV Process Ultra Violet (UV) rays are the high eergy rays havig a wavelegth shorter tha the visible light. They are called ultra-violet because they are just beyod the violet light i the spectrum. Techically, ultra-violet light is defied as ay wavelegth of light which is shorter tha 400 aometer. Water Flow Diagram Whe peetrated ito water, the UV radiatios are absorbed by the DNA of pathoges. These UV rays alter the DNA of these pathoges i such a way that they lose the ability to reproduce, multiply ad ifect. Thus, they are essetially killed ad caot cause ifectio. This process of DNA modificatio is kow as iactivatio. Wavelegth(m) UVB UVA UVC X-Rays Ultraviolet Visible Ifrared Microwaves Radio UF Process Ultra Filtratio is a separatio process that uses membraes with pore size of 0.1 micro. The UF membrae has the capacity to reduce colloidal materials icludig bacteria ad cyst from drikig water. 5 Computer Cotrolled Operatio To esure the delivery of purer ad healthier water, a micro-processor is istalled i the purifier that performs the followig fuctios:- UV Stabilizatio Delay: To esure that the UV lamp is pre-heated ad is workig at its optimum before it starts disifectig water, the cotroller provides a two secod delay to UV lamp whe a purifier is switched o. Durig this period, oly UV lamp is o ad all other electrical devices of purifier are switched off ad o water flows through. Purificatio Delay: To esure that the water lyig idle i the iteral pipes ad the UV chamber is thoroughly disifected before beig passed oto the storage tak, the system provides approximately 5 secods Purificatio Delay whe the purifier is switched o. Durig this period, all electrical devices except UV lamp are switched off ad UV lamp kills the micro-orgaisms preset i water iside the UV chamber. After this delay, all other electrical devices such as soleoid valve etc., get activated ad the ormal purificatio process starts. Audible Alarm: Microprocessor also cotrols the activatio of UV Fail Alarm ad Filter Chage Alarm. UV Fail Alarm To esure purer water throughout the service cycle, KENT MAXX is equipped with a ibuilt UV Fail Alarm which gets activated i a evet of UV lamp failure. I case the UV lamp malfuctios, the purificatio process automatically stops ad purifier starts emittig a short beep at a iterval of every 2 secods. 2 Sec. 2 Sec. 2 Sec. 2 Sec. Istallatio Procedure: 1. Screw i two 10x50 self tapig screws, 5.4 iches (138 mm) apart horizotally. 2. Wall-mout the purifier with the help of slot holes give o the back side. Slot holes Uder such circumstaces, switch off the purifier ad call the service techicia for help. The purifier will stop purificatio i such a situatio. Filter Chage Alarm KENT MAXX has a i-built feature that souds a audible alarm to idicate the replacemet time of filters. This alarm is audible after 700 hrs of filter use. The Filter Chage Alarm works as follows: Gives 4 short beeps after every two secods lastig upto 30 secods. The alarm gets activated after every 2 hours of use. 30 Sec. 30 Sec. Please call the service techicia oce the Filter Chage Alarm is activated ad get the filters replaced. I case the filters are ot replaced withi ext 60 hours of operatio, the purifier stops fuctioig to avoid the delivery of impure water ad emits a beep cotiuously. Uder such circumstaces, the purifier will ot fuctio uless the filters are chaged. 3. Faste the SS ball valve to ¼ ich port of 3-way coector. 4. Attach threaded ed of 3-way coector to raw water supply ad plug off the other ed or coect to a tap. 5. Now coect oe ed of pipe to SS ball valve ad other ed to elbow fittig coector labeled as WATER IN, o the left side of purifier. 6. Tur o the lever give o SS ball valve to iitiate the water flow to purifier. 5 6

6 7. Allow the filters to pre-soak i water for 2-3 miutes. 8. Coect the power supply. 9. Istallatio is complete. Cleaig the Water Tak Startig up the purifier Switch off the power supply. Ope the Upper Cover Remove the water tak Clea it uder a ruig tap water ad wipe dry Switch o the power supply Allow the storage tak to fill up to the Maximum level Switch off the power supply Ope the upper cover. Lift ad drai the storage tak so as to remove the residual dust particles iitially preset i the pipes ad storage tak Place back the storage tak ad close the upper cover Switch o the power supply Purifier is ready to use Recommeded Frequecy for Filter/membrae Chage Sedimet/Carbo à Oce every year or earlier if gets clogged UF Membrae à Oce every 6 moths or earlier if gets clogged Techical Specificatios Maiteace To esure that the purifier operates at its BEST, a routie maiteace must be performed.
