Full Committee Sunday, September 17 h, :30am 7:00pm 7:30am 9:00am 7:45am- 8:45am Registration (Room: Convention Center Concourse) Continental Breakfast (Room: Omni Pre Function) Committee Chairs Information Exchange Breakfast (Invite only) (Room: Omni Forth Worth BR 3) 9:00am- 10:00am Airport Carbon Accreditation Working session (Room: Omni Fort Worth 6-8) This will be a working session for airports that are both currently in the program and those that are considering joining. Representatives from airports who have achieved accreditation will be on hand to answer (hopefully!) all of your questions about the program benefits, costs, challenges and tips to streamline the process. This session will include the information exchange previously held during the Air Quality Working Group Roundtable sessions. Topics will include the carbon neutral pledge that airports around the world have undertaken, and discussion of whether North American airports would like to make a similar joint commitment. Additionally, discussion and suggestions on ways to make the program more adaptable to North American systems, while maintaining the integrity of the program, will be gathered to be transmitted by our ACA representatives at the October ACA Task Force meeting. Now in its 9 th year, the Airport Carbon Accreditation program is truly global, with 190 airports certified, representing all regions and covering over 38 % of global passenger traffic. The program has been 3

4 recognized by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) and ICAO, and is the only carbon management program in the world developed by airports, for airports. 23 U.S. and Canadian airports have joined since the program was brought to our region, and are helping others who are interested in joining. 10:00am- 10:30am 10:30am- 11:15am Morning Break (Room: Omni Pre Function) Legal Lessons Learned (Room: Omni Fort Worth 6-8) As environmental professionals take on roles of increased leadership and authority within their organizations, they also take on increased legal responsibility that could potentially involve liability for actions taken as part of their work. This session will provide an overview of the legal considerations that should be considered for a variety of actions, as well as discussion of resources. The session will include time for discussion and sharing lessons learned. The conversation will be informative and useful to airport environmental professionals at all stages of their careers, from providing base information for those that are earlier in their careers to pertinent examples that may impact seasoned pros. The Noise and NextGen Working Groups will have in depth conversations during their Roundtable sessions, and provide a brief-out to the full committees during this time slot.
