9 RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS RDF bred partnership between Ecocem and Mansheyet Nasser. To ensure working under a legal framework, Ecocem helped garbage excavators legalizes the RDF waste transportation operations by launching JOO Company a startup managed and founded by Ragui, which collects, compresses, recycles and transports RDF to traders all over Egypt.

11 THE ENVIRONMENTAL PILLAR Lands that used to be the reservoir of waste will be freed and cleaned. Waste will be eliminated in the high temperature cement kilns. CO2 emissions will be reduced since 1% of alternative fuel reduces CO2 emissions by 2-3 kg CO2/ton. 1% of alternative fuel = - 2 kg/ton of CO2.

As less costly, alternative fuels would allow Lafarge to expand its energy sources and reduce energy costs.
