2 CITYWIDE MOBILITY UPDATE Introduction and Purpose Provide update on the recommended projects from the Citywide Mobility Needs Assessment Plan as well as ongoing mobility related projects
3 LOXAHATCHEE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS Proposed project includes redesign of Loxahatchee Road from SR7 to the Conservation area Includes design and coordination funding with FDOT, Broward MPO and Broward County Current status: Survey in progress (Broward County) Next step: Proposed design(summer 2016), Joint Participation Agreement (January 2016) Anticipated Project Completion: 2021
4 PARKSIDE DRIVE AND LOX ROAD Per Keith and Schnars approved Citywide Mobility Assessment intersection at Level of Service F by year Consultant recommended annual monitoring of the intersection for traffic signal installation City requested all-way stop for the intersection which was not approved by the County. Current status: Commission approved funding for annual monitoring with the FY16 budget Next step: Select consultant for traffic study at intersection during the peak season
5 HILLSBORO BOULEVARD AND UNIVERSITY DRIVE Intersection improvement as a result of the University Drive extension project. Currently temporary all way stop signs in place Long term solution is a traffic signal for the intersection Next step: Coordination with Broward County regarding a traffic signal at the location. Letter of credit in place for the intersection from Toll Brothers and Lennar. Approach would be similar to the Nob Hill/Heron Bay Boulevard Traffic signal.
6 87 TH AVENUE SIDEWALK Proposed project provides for sidewalk connection from Ranch Road to Holmberg Road Includes the installation of crosswalk on Holmberg Road at the intersection of 87 th Avenue with Pedestrian crossing devices City Pilot safety program with Broward County for crosswalk Current status: Survey and design Next step: Construction April 2016 at the completion of the Farmers Market Anticipated Completion: September 2016
7 OLD CLUB ROAD LEFT TURN LANE Proposed project includes the installation of a left turn lane at the intersection of University Drive and Old Club Road (PGCC Entrance) to reducing traffic stacking and improve movement at the intersection. Includes leaving the existing northbound and southbound stop signs in place Requires Broward County approval as the City s Traffic representative Current status: Broward County review Next step: Broward County traffic field study by end of November Anticipated Completion: To be determined
8 EMERGENCY TRAFFIC SIGNALS Project entails the installation of emergency traffic signals at the City s three fire stations (#42 City Hall,#97 Holmberg Road,#109 Hillsboro Boulevard). Signals will serve to stop traffic as Fire-Rescue vehicles exit the respective station Includes approval from Broward County for installation Station #109 (Hillsboro Boulevard) does not have the required traffic flow for the signal. Required for noise nuisance abatement, further coordination required with the County. Current status: City s Consultants (Stanley Consultant) coordinating warrant studies for approval of the location by Broward County Next step: Design plans for the approved location Anticipated Completion: Approved locations is expected to be completed and operational by end of fiscal 2016
9 TRAFFIC PREEMPTION DEVICE Installation of traffic signal preemption devices that will enable emergency response vehicle to preempt the normal traffic signal sequence to expedite response time. Intersection for installation includes; University Drive and Holmberg Road Nob Hill Road and Heron Bay Boulevard/Parkland Reserve Boulevard Pine Island Road and Trails End Boulevard Pine Island Road and Holmberg Road Current status: Approved by the Fire Chief s Association of Broward County Next Step: Broward County Approval, Contract procurement. Anticipated Completion: Completed and operational by end of fiscal 2016
10 NOB HILL ROAD TRAFFIC SIGNAL Project involves the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Nob Hill Road and Heron Bay Boulevard/Parkland Reserve Boulevard to improve vehicular movement at the intersection. Current status: Signal installed and approved by Broward County Next Step: All way left turn signal installation as approved by Broward County Anticipated Completion: Completed and operational by end of December 2015
11 CITYWIDE LIGHTING PROJECT Project involves the installation of street lighting along roadways identified in the approved Citywide Lighting Plan Loxahatchee Road Current status: Lights Installed from Parkside Drive to Nob Hill Road Next Step: Nob Hill Road Intersection, Nob Hill Road west to conservation Area, Parkside Drive to SR7 Anticipated Completion: January 2016

14 RIVERSIDE DRIVE BIKE LANE Broward County Project that entails the installation of bicycle lanes along both sides of Riverside Drive from the Sawgrass Expressway to Holmberg Road Current status: Plan review and development Next Step: Broward County presentation to the City in January
