1 Job Description Job Title: Responsible to: Cafe Assistant Cafe Manager Hours of work: Casual hours across 7 days a week between 08:30 16:30 Holidays: Contract Type: Salary: 5.6 weeks per year pro rata Zero Hours 7.20 per hour Main Purpose of the role: To ensure customers expectations of all food, beverages and customer service are exceeded. This may include, but not limited to any aspect of the café operation including service, food preparation, equipment, facilities, cleaning, health and safety, along with any other reasonable task to be undertaken. Key Tasks 1. Cafe Operations a. Take food and drink orders b. Operating the till, and balancing it on a daily basis c. Keeping accurate time sheets and charge sheets daily d. Checking that orders have been correctly delivered and charged for e. Cleaning the kitchen, café area and café toilets in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations and Guidance f. Keeping cleaning and temperature records g. Undertaking the preparation of beverages served in the café h. Clearing tables i. Washing up j. Ensuring that the café environment is pleasant and welcoming in line with brand guidelines k. Reporting maintenance issues to the Café Manager l. Ensuring that any risk assessments are complied with m. Maintaining such records as are required by the Café Manager 2. Customer Service a. Welcome, receive and care for visitors within Cafe and on site. b. Attend to the needs of the general public, volunteers and colleagues, face to face, or via the telephone. 3. Contribute to Fundraising, Educational and commercial activities a. Contribute to and attend fundraising and commercial events. b. Actively promote Raystede services onsite. 4. Personal development

2 a. Maintain and develop personal performance. b. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and good working practices with colleagues and volunteers. 5. Physical requirements a. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking and standing for 4 to 6 hours or more per day. b. Exposure to disinfectant solutions for cleaning. c. Potential exposure to animal bites and scratches. d. Continual exposure to animals and animal allergens. 6. Other a. Take care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts and omissions. b. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for the charity. c. Co operate with Raystede policies and procedures for health and safety. d.
